Reduce number of stickies?

Cant the number of sticky & announcement topics in here be reduced? On a 20 topic page these stickies take in like 12/20 slots every time. Not to mention i have to scroll almost all the way down untill i reach the normal topics

I am sure some of them can be either removed or combined with others!
