First some Ranger S & R:
Girdle of Lightning - Ranger Starfall Quest. Ok, its not the hardest starfall ever. It can be solo'd at 33 (I did) and only requires two drops. But still, I think it needs a minor improvement, considering that the other Ranger starfall is 99.9% useless for rangers. I don't ask for much; maybe 10-15 hp, or 4 stamina, or 2-3% more haste. Some little bump to make up for the total lack of a second Starfall item, and for the discrepancies between Ranger Starfall and some other classes Starfalls.
Minor Ranger Issues:
Storm Strength does not appear anywhere in the empty spell gem right click context menu. Call Of Earth is under "Damage Shield" rather than "Combat Innates".
Please give Rangers back the spell Glimpse, it may seem useless but it is intended to give Rangers a way to raise Divination at low levels. It is not useless; Summon: Globe of the Fireflies is the same thing but for Conjuration.
And now, 'Other' S&R:
There are a number of "Collect a large number of stackable items to gain faction with someone in order to receive an award when you get ally status" type quests in the game, and a few need some minor adjustments.
Cloak of the Wind quest: There are only 17 Tarxan spawns, and they don't always drop the item AND they have a long respawn time. Considering the high number of turn-ins needed for this quest (I must be around 100 beaks at this point and I am warmly to the kargyxx), I think some adjustment is in order. Either making each spawn drop at least 1, or decreasing the spawn time would make this quest reasonable enough that more people would actually do it. Of course all of this is dependent on the reward, which I haven't been able to get yet because it is taking so very long. If it turns out it was well worth the effort I will fully retract this statement.
Newport Amulet quest: I can't comment on the Everchill part of this faction raising quest, but the two middle parts could be looked at for much the same reason as the above quest. The drop rates on Bandit Heads and Liodreth Heads are really, really low. I hunted for 4-5 levels in Paw, and maybe 25 liodreth heads dropped during the whole time, and those were of course shared among group members. I even went back on my own at various times to try and get some Liodreth heads on my own, and in total I can't have gotten more than 4 or 5 after killing some 100 Liodreths.
Most people skip over bandits in the levelling process, but Paw is a major step in the quest for faction.
Now for some constructive (I hope) suggestions:
A quest to improve the Girdle of Lightning. Up to 3 items collected from NPCs around mid-40s levels. Add some stats, maybe hp, and 5% haste to the girdle.
If possible more 'utility' AAs for Rangers using archery. Small things much like pinning shot. Short term (bard song duration or drastically less depending on power) debuffs. For example a "Distracting shot" which gives a ranger's arrow a fair chance to cause a "critical hit curse" type effect for maybe 3 seconds.
Warriors need stuff like that too, but I haven't played one, only talked to some, so I will refrain from suggestions on that. People like shiny things like that and it is a way to make people happy without throwing balance off too much.
Disclaimer: I'm not trying to be a smartass, be angry or anything, just trying to contribute; please feel free to contribute/argue/refute, etc. without any fear or angry flaming.
Thank you
