Quick question

Just a quick question that I can't seem to find an answer for anywhere else I try...
Does anyone know how much hand rolling tobacco costs in New York. Just wondering if it costs more than in England so I can decide whether or not to stock up.

Edit: For reference a 25 gram pouch costs roughly £4.50 so about 7.80 US

Everything is? Is that couse your in Alaska as apposed to the continent? Weird, couse I remember damn near everything being miles cheaper in New York when compared to England, even taking into account the exchange rate. But baccy I'm not too sure on>< Hell do they even SELL rolling baccy? It's been four years since I lived there and I don't remember :(

Well...

Says it all really ;)

Alaska has the highest cost of living as any State in the Union, if you work for the federal gov't in Southeast alaska you get almost a 50% pay boost just to counteract the higher cost of living, and its still not enough, I worked in a Grocery store at 16 for 12 bucks an hour as a cashier and I still was almost the lowest paid cashier that worked there

don't bring tobacco over to UK. The government will force you to pay ~20 dollar tax per packet and you will be screwed, true story

Do not post when you don't read what the OP wrote.
For your info...he is going to go TO New York FROM England so your answer is absolutely pointless.
Thank your for your attention.

I will go and see what I can do with the Ignorebutton.

20 dollars a pouch? Ya reckon? I mean every time I've made the flight in the past they've always given a specific ammount you can bring back, like 400 ciggies or whatever...besides, i'll just sling it in my lugage along with all the other yummy America stuff that we don't get over here.

Mmmm, Mountain Dew....

You... Dont... Have... Mountain Dew... WTF! Get the fuck out of that piece of shit country! OMG! Now! While you still can! For the love of GOD why would they do that? I cant think of life without the Dew Dear lord...

Being that I live in NY I can tell you this much - NY taxes the shit out of alcohol and tobacco. Moreso tobacco than booze though.

I haven't smoked in a long time, but if I remember correctly a pack of smokes is about ~$4-$5 now...all other tobacco products probably in line with that. It'll be higher in New York City though I imagine.

I think Hassan just assumed he actually would going back to England at one point too. So did I, so I don't really see it as "absolutely pointless". :)

Well I dunno...I do miss cheesesteaks an awful lot too...But still, $4-5 aint bad at all, that's like £3 or something? Still about half price, and baccy lasts alot longer than a pack of 20.

But no, no dew in England...This place sucks...stupid high tax rates and no dew or cheesesteaks

We used to have Mountain Dew here, seemed to dissapear a few years ago.

And hey, taxes aren't that bad. The more taxes you pay, the happier you are...Or the happier you are, the more taxes you pay...And don't forget our increasing loss of social freedoms through new legislation...But at least we'll be completely free of crime once we get ID cards, terrorism charges and incitement to religious hatred laws.

At least I think we'll be completely free of crime...I forget what the nice NuLabour man told us :(
