Questions from a (hoperfully) new player!

looks good, just point it to eqgame.exe (wich should be in the folder seen on your SS)
 
Unable to copy + paste it into the folder. When I click "Start EQ" I get this message

Update! (Not a good one D:)

After trying again, I now receive this error message:

"The program can't start because mss32.dlll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling this program to fix this problem."

Must I reinstall Everquest? : /

Try it with the repatch all check box clicked. You have a pathing issue.

I assume you arent pointing the patcher to the eqgame.exe in the var\sod\patcher sub directory? because its going to look for
eq libraries in that sib directory if you are.
 
i see you have planescape torment, one of the greatest games of all time. congrats

honestly though this whole thread confuses me. why do you have linux directory setup on a win7 system? you also seem to have 2 installs of eq, one in c:\var and the other in Installed Games. one of those is a CD install, correct? ie. you never ran the sony patcher.
 
Negative, the game was bought and downloaded from Direct 2 Drive. And is Planescape Torment really that good? ;p I tried playing it, but didn't like how it looked (as in, not being able to choose a class, after getting used to creating a character in games like Baldur's Gate). And I never even noticed the var file, to be honest. I just found it whilst looking for the eqgame.exe. Ran the repatch and still getting that there's malware in the download (from AVG)? Allowed it and still getting the same missing mss32.dlll (whatever it is) from launching it. Maybe my computer just refuses to run it... : /
 
do you have .net installed? i cant recall if its required for the patcher, but that may be the cause of the mss32 error
 
Okay, so, we've now officially fixed the missing mss32.dll file, and now I'm getting a meaningless wall of text error

followed by a missing graphics DLL error. I've actually typed in dll into the search box of my EQ file and found these

I have NWN 2 not 1
Day of Defeat ,CS,Zombie panic! (REALLY good HL2 zombie mod)
Heroes of Newerth not League of Legands
You sir are missing Heroes of Might and magic 3 from that desktop
Is that Pluggy for Diablo 2 ? Awesome mod
I see you have a Utorrent..... I use Titanium EQ that works well........
Who doesn't have wow on their DT.
Origin BField 3 ?

You should really invest in Baldur's Gate 2 and probably the expansion
 
Titanas, lol, we do have a lot of the same games, apparently. I had Diablo 2, but un-installed it, (no biggy, still got my battle chest ;) Un-installed Heroes of Newerth recently. No BF3, too horrible a gfx card on my comp to run it. Here's a photo of my cleaned up desktop just for the hell of it.

And Boehm, I'm having compatibility issues with those. They won't install on a 64-bit operating system is the message I get when trying to run them.
