Question for anyone useing Hail to the King UI

I d/Led it and followed the read me. Either way i try it ( renameing the file, or Loading it from ALT+O ) it jus gives a fatal error. What am i doing wrong? ><

Alot of the ui's you'll find on eqinterface etc aren't updated/compatible with SoD. My guess is that's the case.


I know it's in the list of suggested UI's, some of them are outdated now as well, took a few tries for me to find one I like.
 
As a question should there be a server number or name at the end of the UI file you rename and paste? Iv tried 6 UIs now includeing sars melee and all they do is crash the client during loading.
 
UI ini files are not what is crashing it. You are using incompatible UI files that it is trying to load. The current EQ UI is not even the same format any more as the one SoD uses iirc.
A misnamed UI_Name_.ini file will not crash the client at all because the client will simply remake one with default settings.

You should go through and look at older UI pieces in eqinterface or try your luck with older sets. Copy the files and reload UI individually if you are unsure of compatibility.
 
I think he didn't come across quite like he wanted to. I believe what your trying to say, is you've tried out all of the UI's from the Must Have List sticky..

And none of them are working for you, you keep crashing. If thats the case, it usually has to do with files either missing or they are corrupt. You can check in your equi log and it might tell you the files it was missing.
 
Yea i check the UIlog after the crashes and all of them are just a long list of errors like this one...

[Mon Jun 23 02:58:01 2008] Warning: file EQUI.xml not found in directory UIFiles\drakah_ci_legacy\. Attempting to use file from Default skin.

And goes on and on listing all the .xml files.
 
that means you are trying to use \drakah_ci_legacy\ UI, which i dont recognize, it isnt there, so its trying to load the default skin.

Did you replace the default skin with something weird too? Or delete it?
 
No that was just an example of one of the 6 or so iv tried so far.The error messages are all the same just a different named folder for the UI i downloaded.i havent touched or replaced either Default of Default_old UI folders in uifiles folder. i just extract the folder i download to uifiles folder, rename the ini file/copy/paste and rename the UIskin= section in the eqclient.ini.Pretty much everything thats listed to do in every read me file.

Either the first guy was right and the sod xml files are to old to run the UI's offered nowadays or i jus fucking suck at installing them.
