Quality of Life Request: Call of the Hero

Short answer, yes. Difficulty: targeting the summonee. I *think* you can click on raid members in 2.5 and target them (don't hold me to this, I can't check ATM), in which case this is a trivial thing and it's no problem to add then.

You can always /assist a raid member if that person has a group member nearby. Right now we cannot summon people targetted that way

I don't think the range on /assist is very long though. So even if you're standing next to a mage and you have a groupmate targeted that's across the zone, the mage won't be able to get the target. Probably needs the new client.

In my experience, the distance of the target of the guy you assist doesn't matter at all, as long as the guy you assist is close.

Yeah you are right, I had it backwards.

This will be a good change, glad it's happening!

In theory this change is pretty freaking cool. In practice:

Since you can't click on raid members that are out of range, this won't be that useful until 2.5. Sure in theory if someone has the target of the desired CoH recipient and then made it back to the mage to assist them it could be utilized. But for the most part, it's much easier to just switch groups and use CoH the "old way" than jump through these hoops.

On the bright side, once 2.5 comes out and if you can target raid members, this will be awesome.

As long as one group member of the person that needs CoH is near the mage, said group member could click the CoH person (via group window), then mage assists and CoHs.

This is still MUCH better than being limited to the previous group CoTH method. And, this is a very simple process....yes, it's not as easy as opening the 'raid' window and clicking a name, but just like Nwaij said, just be close to 1 of the group members of the person who needs CoTH and you're good.
