PoW Loot

1.9 is still to high, I really think the mantle should be 1.8
Sure it would be the same as seraphic voice, but seraphic voice is quite rare, and its a primary/secondary.
A plane of water drop should not have a better mod then an inner prison drop, even if the inner prison item is a mod to all, since singing is the main reason to get the upgrade, notice ruin giving julon thaz gaunts as soon as possible.

PoWater bards having a better mod than IP bards is pretty insane. IMO nerf Seraphic Voice to 1.7, lower mantle to 1.8.

I really feel that being given the option between 2 slots (non-weapon) is definitely a large enough upgrade that seraphic voice doesn't need to be changed.

Quick update: The Focus of Frost effect is indeed supposed to be a 2% bonus to cold-based spells, after talking with Wold, but it appears to be bugged and is granting 8% to fire-based spells. I'll be fixing that along with Focus of Fire(just to be consistent - it's 5% to magic at the moment - when it should be 2% to fire), which should hopefully take effect next patch.

Edit: Also, after looking over the Prophet encounter, other than a few minor changes to the robe(which Wold already agreed needed looking at), he seems about right for his loot quality. Other encounters we'll go over too, but please remember to keep the feedback civil; Woldaff is new to this kind of thing so he's still getting his feet wet. I'm sure the Legacy/Forsaken guys can tell you how much of a mess some things were when I first started out doing zones. :p

Did I botch up those focus's or what. Sheesh
seriously, i know you wrote this kinda jokingly, but its awesome to read you saying this. thanks for looking into it. I know if i was gearing up a guild, i'd be knee deep in PoW.

Robe of the Prophet (Prophet (easier then Abjud)

Meditate +5

vs.

Shroud of Vapor(mani's in OP)
28ac
Effect: Vaporous Regeneration
25agi 25dex 20wis 20chr 100hp 150mana
4sv all

If these encounters are indeed the same difficulty, I would bet that the manifestation robe is underpowered, I know as soon as ruin started killing manifestations consistently, the robes were immediately on rot status, even the first one we got, and went to bot clerics and twink monks/bsts. The next upgrade from that prophet robe for a cleric/casters would be Taeshlins robe, which is ft3, and while Taeshlins doesnt have DI5, DI5 is an ultra common focus (rod of living fire comes to mind, its easy to 1 group if not duo), with DI6 being pretty common via sedductress earring.

They arent man, the mob that drops the Prophet robe is easier then manifestations. It's already been addressed by woldaff and xelden though so theres really no reason to dwell.

i know that steel is on a higher tier than PoW, but 5 steel, 5 dandy, and 5 empire went in there, and we pwned fase, all the while knowing nothing about the encounters. its easy stuff.

to be completely fair, the manis robe has always sucked; it could use a looking-at. numerically, it isnt so bad, but it suffers from a kind of role schizophrenia

So everyone is stuck with a non FT robe untill 2 tiers later and then they get a ft3 one with 200 mana?

(or beat sepulcher and get a cler dru shm bp in cod which is a bigger pain to get to than manis (assuming you have motg's key))

The manis robe sucks imo.

Heavy Shelled Gloves
16 ac / 15 str / 15 sta / 15 Agi / 10 dex / 105 hp / 105 mana / FR 10 / CR 10
Focus - Casting Speed Increment V
Effect - Valiance III

Vs.

Ylar, Gauntlets of Putresence
24 ac / 15 str / 10 sta / 15 dex / 155hp / 10 to all saves
Effect - Aura of Battle

I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to compare there - Ylar are far superior to those gloves.

50 hp, and 30 more saves is a pretty big gap, but the Heavy Shelled Gloves have 105 more mana, 1 less atk, 8 less ac, 10 more dez, 5 more sta and a really, really rare focus (at least for hybrids)

I have been trying to phase more Hybrid focus's onto items in general. I think I will ask wiz about putting a few on items that I was not the designer of.

That being said I dont see anything wrong with the heavy shelled gloves. They are above the corpse spinner gloves for everyone and are equal to the mani gloves for DPS and worse than the mani gloves for tanks by far.

I'd give you a hug.

Yeah you're going to see a fairly strong shift toward giving hybrids foci too, as it's something that's been mostly neglected in the past(except for a select few items), and really needs more attention. There's no reason at all to exclude a class that uses spells from focus effects, in my mind.

hey wold/xeld lets just make sure we dont all decide to fix the same thing at the same time okay

me and wold had that problem a coupla times with our zones where we both tried to plug the same itemization holes, etc, and i know we both put in a shitload of hybrid focus items

im not sayin dont do it, im just sayin we oughter use some caution
