Post 300 AA Specializations

Dunno if this has been discussed or not but I know a lot of people are looking for ways to be able to be "Rewarded" for lots of AA's. I know it's already being thought of to implement the advancement tomes or whatever to advance yourself using normal experience with strict AA requirements, but what about all the extra speciliazation points that get racked up after your normal 5 are maxed?

This is open to ideas but my idea was to put some kind of "choice" when you hit 300 aa's to put the rest of your specialization points into. The bonus doesn't have to be really huge so as to unbalance things, but maybe cool things such as choosing a path of specialization to increase resists, 1hs, 2hs, avoidance, accuracy etc? The max bonus wouldn't even have to be 10% like regular specilalizations, but maybe 5% bonus when it's maxed or something. Give people something to spend all those extra points in

If you could just choose 1 or 2 for a final specialization choice once you reach 300 would be pretty cool imo.

EDIT: Also same goes for casters, maybe be able to specialize into 1 of the following: 3% max extra damage on cold, or fire, or magic spells

- New, specialized ways of advancement (called learning tomes, more details later) will allow you to spend EXP practically infinitely, even after you max out AAs.

And a quote from in game:

[Wed Jul 18 14:02:54 2007] Dev-Woldo BROADCASTS, 'Multiple people write: "Are there any plans to add to the game addition AAs such as Gates AAs? "If AAs are not a possibility will there be other new ways to progress your character past the AA cap?"'

[Wed Jul 18 14:03:50 2007] Admin-Wiz BROADCASTS, 'We cannot add new AAs, but I am developing a system of "advancement tomes", that work by utilizing your normal XP at 65 to advance you in the area of your currently selected tome. One tome might make you better against dragons/giants, another might increase your spell mitigation, and so on.'
[Wed Jul 18 14:03:54 2007] Admin-Wiz BROADCASTS, 'Essentially pseudo AAs.'
[Wed Jul 18 14:04:03 2007] Admin-Wiz BROADCASTS, 'These will be for the very high end only, with few exceptions.'
[Wed Jul 18 14:04:15 2007] Admin-Wiz BROADCASTS, 'And will most likely have steep AA requirements.'

Yeah but did he mean the tomes are going to use specialization points or just use up extra AA's? I was thinking of something to do with the buttload of extra spec points you get after 300

Why not increase the caps of specializations? Seems easy to implement, and seems fair if you have over 300 AA.

I think it would be cool if once you have 250 in them all(300 AAs) you could pick like, two and raise them even higher to a point.

Im not sure if its possible to get a skill over 255 .. i remembered hearing something along that lines once.

Maybe my memory fails me :p

They aren't Skills like 1hb or offense are, that's different.

Actually I believe they are; the caster only specializations from Live got commandeered into the SoD spec's that we know and love. They show up in skill lists for casters and you get the same skill up message for other skills. They just aren't displayed for classes that didn't get them on live.
