Poison focus for Shaman

When changes to ToT and Thaz gear were announced I adopted a wait-and-see approach to this but now that the changes are done I have been unable to find any items that a 6% poison focus was added to. I was wondering if indeed this focus was added or if it was overlooked?

I have seen that list before, but other then the necro ring I have heard or seen anyone with them so its hard to determine what level you would be able to get a hold of them.

Ill move in inquires to the other thread since it will be more on topic thier then here now.

I don’t get this. I spent quite a few hours researching elemental focus items to illustrate the huge difference in availability of cold, fire and magic focuses over poison and disease focus items. I compared the one available poison item to all the available items that use the same slot (range) in the upper tier to show that it was a vastly inferior item to the other items and therefore would likely not get used at that level. I show the damage increase that would result from a 6% focus to show that it would in no way be over powered when compared with cold, fire and magic focuses. I took the time to compile an exhaustive list of every priest usable item from the top tiers including their current effects for comparison and easy identification of potential items to receive the poison focus. What do I get for all the time and effort I put into a well thought out and detailed request after 2 months and an fairly thorough overhaul of top end gear? An agreement from Xeldan that the focus is underrepresented and an “Ill look into it” from Woldaff back when I originally posted.

Looking at some of the other S&R posts Id have been further ahead to post an “I think shamans shood get poison focus cause that’s what dots we haves and necros can has focus for there dots.” Or perhaps I should have posted a bitch about some completely irrelevant feature of a different class; that seems to bring swifter change :)

I realize the staff are busy with numerous projects but honestly Id settle for a simple stfu at this point considering the level of attention most other S&R posts receive.

I know of two poison focuses that are 6% each that are pretty hard to get. There should probably be more spread throughout the tiers, but maybe there are now, and I just have not seen them. There are definitely some out there now, though.

The only 6% poison focus I am aware of is on the necro Thaz sleeves. I just Fomelo'd everyone I could think of in Steel and didnt see the focus elsewhere. Im assuming you are alluding to an item from PS, Emberflow or possibly the newly added Thaz encounter (although I found no items that fit the bill). Even if items do exist at that level it is a poor solution to the problem as you stated. 6% focuses for cold, fire and magic start at considerably lower tiers. Poison (and disease) for those with effected dots aside from necros should also be available much sooner than the very top level encounters.

I know for a fact I made 1 or 2 6% poison items for content that is in game now (unless they werealtered or removed during one of the item revamps while I was on break). Perhaps they have not been dropped/found yet?

.... I can't say that I've looked at it too hard, but the idea of looking over old items and deciding (it would have to be pretty random) which deserve to have a poison/disease/magic focus slapped on them... is not something I would especially look forward to.....

He gave a few solid examples of where the focus could be added. I don't know how you feel about the ones he suggested, but he did put a lot of time and work into choosing the best candidates. I believe at least one of them is perfectly acceptable so the work would be rather limited for a lacking, and needed, focus.

To Quote Malleus:

"Decent Candidates:
- Woven Ivy Choker (all but pure melee) – has FT2 but would compete directly with Choker of Purified Gore
- Chrystaline Monocle (priests and silkies) – has RI 7, likely the best choice as very few seem to use it.
- Coral-crusted Spaulders (wis users) – has MC7
- Cape of Lucid Energy (all) – resist item currently sporting melee stats, adding poison focus alone would not make this more attractive than Reverence, Writhing Drape or even Combine with its FT2
- Adaptable Tinkered Jewelry (all) – No other effects but already almost a must have due to high mana, hp and resists
- Knowledge of the End (all) – has minus 5 agro"

To add to what zae said, we don't generally announce where and how we fiddle with items like this. The 6% poison focus is in-game and available at thaz tier. The rest, you'll have to figure out on your own.
