Please help with Newport Ring 3 Quest technical problem!

When i decided to go after my newport ring 3 today, i tried to hail captain thalas, to no avail though. i tried to hail the sergeant in the guard tower too, to no avail. im not sure if it has anything to do with the faction resets or not, but when i hail regular guards, they still call me scout klaarsk. any help would be very much appreciated
 
i have the corporals ring (sorry, can't spell), but no one will respond to any of my hails. i honestly think the huge drop in my alliance from the ally resets. i haven't tried to continue the quest since the reset up until now.
 
The faction checks on this quest series are fairly loose as the quests also serve as a way to increase faction in Newport. I'll see if I can figure out what the problem is.
 
but, they still call me scout klaarsk which is what i was called after doing quest 1, after quest two they started calling me corporal klaarsk
 
i still can't do my ring 3 quest. I have the corporal's insignia, i remember doing the quest all the way up to the part where the guard that gives quest 1 & 2 told me to go see captain thalas. after that, i left the quest alone for a while. Should i /petition it so an admin or gm can see me trying to do it (to see if they can figure it out) or am i just gonna have to wait and see what happens? I'm supposed to work on ring 4 this weekend with my guild, so the faster i can get my ring 3 underway, the faster i can complete it. thx for all the help so far.
 
I'll get with you later today about this and we'll see if I can get your flag straightened out. Sounds like your flag may be messed up somehow.

This sounds exactly like the same problem I had with Luas some time ago.
Can it be that Quest flag will get messed up when you leave the quest alone for some time?
 
sorry, couldn't stay on long enough to catch you xelden, i wont be able to stay on for more than a few hours at a time until this weekend. let me know what you find out. :)
 
xeldan, if you get this post soon, i will be on for a few hours this morning, so feel free to talk to me in-game if you have time and i'll do whatever i need to get the problem fixed as soon as possible, thx
 
I had decent newport faction, and started this quest maybe a month ago.

Had upto the 3rd ring, then took a 2-3 week break.
Just recently, I noticed my faction was back to either dubious or apprehensive.

Was still able to finish ring 4&5 yesterday though.

Not sure whats up with freeport faction.
 
i dont know whats wrong, but i thought even after i had done the first 2 rings, the npcs would still respond to my hails. but now its like they dont hear or see me.
