"Player's Pet" Names

I didn't get any results on Search so I was wondering if pet names could be changed to read as "Pet of <Player>" instead of "Player's Pet" to help with /target issues.

I can see the reason for making this request. My feelings are mixed simply because this is the way it has always been. The change would probably be for the best, though, assuming it is possible. If the staff wish to differentiate swarm pets from traditional pets, perhaps a word along the lines of "minion" could even be used; "Minion of Kerolynne" sounds less clunky than "Pet of Kerolynne," but this is also an even more drastic change (even if it would apply only to swarm pets and not traditional pets).

Now if only we could get swarm pets and charm pets to be made "invisible" to F8! However, I suspect this is yet another client limitation.... :dumbsad:

Seems like a fair tradeoff for summoning a massive amount of monsters to fight at your side.

not really considering they can die to basically 1 aoe or 1 ww or phantom strike or anything dumb like that.

Yeah, I'd go ahead and make the assertion that this isn't somehow a balancing mechanism and more just an unintended consequence. Sounds like a good idea for a change, if doable.

Not sure if it works with titanium client, but I am pretty sure it does. With your /target command and "pc" at the end. Should recognize this as "player character" and target the closest PC with that name.

Example: /target Vitali pc

Conversely you can add NPC to the end of your message in case someone's player name is similar to an NPC you want to target.

**Note** I could be getting clients muddied up a bit, so if this doesn't work I am sorry for getting your hopes up.
