Platinum vs. Titanium

Hi all,

New to Dalaya, haven't set up to play in quite a while...going to try it again this weekend when I have time :)

Problem I'm wondering about...I've read through quite a few threads/howtos etc. in the past few days, and noticed that fresh-install Titanium is the best way to go...

I've also seen where somebody mentioning needing to have all the files up to GoD...here's my conundrum (sp?): I only have the Platinum version handy atm...and have been having a hard time finding anybody (including Amazon...they were out of stock yesterday) with the Titanium version available.

Platinum lists having:

Classic
Kunark
Velious
Luclin
PoP
LoY
LDoN
GoD

Would a fresh install of that still work? Or are there additional files on Titanium that Platinum doesn't have that would be needed?

Anybody else get just Platinum to work on the current SoD build? If so, I'd be curious in the how (semi-patch to LIVE, etc)...

And I apologize in advance for a long-winded question, and if it's already been dealt with before...
 
The listings I found doesn't say anything about Platium ED. having GoD.
You definite need those later files as models in newer zones are being used. Otherwise you end up with a lot of Humans, and certain zone in game you cannot enter without those files.


What I did since Titianium Ed. Was such a pain to find, was get the Anniversary Edition. I picked up a copy 5 months ago off Amazon for 14.95 (2.95 shipping). It has 13 expansions (vs 10 off Titianium). So it has files you dont need but I have had no problems with the SoD patcher even with all the extra files.

Price Seems to have gone up a bit since then (SoD popularity? :D )

Right...seen $74 for Titanium off ebay and amazon...crazy times...

I didn't think Platinum Ed had GoD on it either...but right on the back of my case is...GoD listed as the last expansion...

I'm gonna give it a whirl and see how it goes...
 
Just did some more online looking around...yeah, it does look like GoD is included in Platinum...

So, anybody else know whether just up to GoD is needed for SoD?
 
Confirmed that Platinum does indeed work. Patched fine straight from CD install and logged into the SoD server without a hitch.
