Platinum = Skill Practices?

I know the system can be done, because Wiz did it with AA points :D

It would be really helpful to those with a lot of plat and low skill points (my offense is much lower than it should be >.<) and it could be used to speed up the processes of specialization or alternate weapon skills (like 2hb or 2hslashing or archery or ect.).

It doesn't necessarily make the process of character evolution easy. I mean, it takes work to get the items to get the plat. Am I right folks?

It's not such a bad idea, especially since lower skills can be very hard to raise. It might also encourage a bit of buying/selling/trading, with low - middle level characters pawning off items they pick up to exchange for plat to raise their damned 2hb skill.

To that I'd say: I have around two thousand plat sitting in my ranger's bank that could be passed onto my little level 17 <insert class here>. It would make twinking a lot easier (because one of the main problems with powerleveling a character is raising their skills up afterwards), but, for new chars / mains, it might be an incentive to save up that cash and sell those gems that they usually leave behind.

Hell, maybe Nazul could even get his Abjuration sorted out with a system like this. :p It sounds good to me. (limiting the amount of times you can train tradeskills like this is taken for granted)

Plat not useless? =O

A way to do this would be to make skill raises more expensive at a certain point and just remove the idea of practice points. There would be a max per level, but as long as you had the plat you could raise skills (with restrictions on trade skills). Making it rise like exponentially would keep it balanced.

Just a thought! :)

But a level 17 can't raise his skills past 85 due to the skill points to level cap, so it's not all bad.

But I would agree with the rest of all that :D
