PKing ... when/where it is acceptable

I had a pretty nice group going in Eldenals last night, pulling the castle, cruising along - and someone comes along and PKs our cleric.  As our only healer, this forces us to head back to the zone in and wait for them to get back.  My question is this - some of my group mates indicated that this was against the rules in some sense, and that people had been punished for doing it before (as a side note, this occurred mid fight for us).  If that is the case, I would very much like to see this person punished for doing something that wasted our time and upset our play in this manner.  If it is not against the rules, then I can understand - frankly, I have no idea why our cleric was PK active, but it's something I'll keep in mind in the future.

P.S. I submitted a petition on the subject last night, it was apparently resolved after I logged off - so maybe I should wait to hear what the resolution was.

AFAIK it's not against the rules.  IMO If you are red tagged you are in essence acknowledging the fact that it is bound to happen.  All I can suggest is remove the pvp tag before raiding/xping when it would be deemed a big deal if something like this happened.

Edit: To comment on your "PS": Petitions will clear once a player logs, so it could not have been technically resovlved.  A GM will not contact you at a later time if you log off after filing a petition...  Just FYI.

it's acceptable as long as both the attacker and defenders names are red. Now griefing like camping someones spawn is against the rules but what happened to your healer is exactly what pvp is about, maybe next time you should flag up so you can protect your healer.

You go red, you deal with it. You group with a red tagged, deal with it.

Regarding the petition: it vanishes after you log out, you have to repetition.

I think this is a very reason many people don't have PVP tags. Having played on a PVP server in the "old days," you are gonna get ganked. That is a huge part of what PVP is about. If getting a legit kill on a red is against the rules, it would be news to me.

Sounds legal to me.. from my experience years ago with pvp servers, the biggest 'illegal' pk issues were bind point camping, training, and intentionally causing xp loss (taking them down to 2% hp then letting a mob finish them off).

Most everything else was legal.. you wear a pvp flag, you take your chances. :)

If you are red, you are free game

This is why I cant figure out why warriors and rogues run around with a red tag (see signature)

I wear my red tag with pride and if I die, its a game and I get over it. :)

i usually like to tag up and have fun, but take the tag off for raids, due to guild rules, we fuck off and kill clerics during raids and shit. one time terate even deflected icar into Landslide for laffos. but yeah, if you're red, you're going to die sometime.

I was red until I realized I could not actually kill anything with the ability to move :dumb:

Yea Ive heard nasty stories about Gtoo and his monk Onos following PR around.

Figured id ask this here.

What ever happened to the eqguildwars server?

When I went looking for it originally a while back, I found SOD and never guildwars.

And now that I found their site eqguildwars.com it seems to be a goner?

Does anyone know the story?

Sure looking forward to a full blown balanced PVP server from SOD fellas.

Ya, happened more then once actually. Onos would be red, trying to kill whichever person was smart enough to not untag... And Gtoo would be blue, healing Onos whenever he got near death.

More like Laurabell, Maimai and Eleonor all trying to kill me at the same time but not being able to so Eleonor had to train PoT mobs on me. hehehehhehe.
