Pets

I see a couple changes that should happen with pets.

1) I think a 2 min recast time on all pets is a bit high.

2) Pets should get some restrictions on their max damage. The higher level pets getting a 95 damage axe and hitting for 190 seems fine to me... but a level 20 pet doing that kind of damage seems a bit overpowering.

Also it would be nice if pets could keep the items they had through zoning. I am sure it wouldn't be easy... but going LD and losing a pet weapon is annoying.

2 minute timer is there to stay. The 95 damage axe is NO DROP, but I am going to add a damage cap on weapons given to pets. Also pets are being changed to have buffs and equipment stay over zoning, and I'm considering replacing the /pet hold AA with /pet drop, to make it return the weapon. (So you only lose it if the pet dies)

Rarok is refering to the ancient runic axe (sp?) from mielechc. which is not no drop and does have 95 dmg.

is there any advantage to giving a beastlord pet weapons? I have never really experimented with that, so I'm rather clueless.

I've given weapons to beastlords pets. If you give them say a sword their damage will change to slashing, also, I'm assuming the damage will be increased with the kind of weapon you give.

Wiz, with pet drop instead of pet hold would the pets drop the items on the ground or return everything to the owner? If it returns to the owner what happens if the owner is full and if it drops to the ground what about no drop items wouldnt that be a way to trade them? I know you probably dont have it all worked out but just wodering how it would be returned, dropped or given back.

Pet hold is also very nice for raiding situations where is theres adds and your pet aggros on one, what if that mob runs off with your pet just to aggro more of the place on the raid when the pet dies or the caster tells it pet back. Mages with the clear aggro on pet summon(forgot name of it) would be ok but doesnt the caster get aggro when the pet attacks a mob or is it only when he actually tells the pet to attack?

If your inventory is full it'll go to your cursor (as when given quest bags/items). If the cursor is full it'll go puff (as when you forage).

oof that kinda sucks since the cursor can only have 1 item on it. wont suck so bad once pets can transend zones though so one can bank then have the pet drop and return items.
