Perpetual lag since second to last patch

Also, please post any event viewer errors that you can find at the time of the crashes - they may be helpful in diagnosing the issue as well at the time of the issue occurring!

I've already tryed system restore when the problem first came up, messed with texture caching and so on. Near as I can tell that the time of day I don't get the lag is early morning or really late at night, I would even guess is that the other people affected by this have timewarner and if they run tracert the last set of hops before the SoD server is in kansas (I'm on the east coast) . In the last couple of days though I went from getting 1.6-4% loss to at its high 12%.

The crashing on zone is pretty rare, happens more when I try to first log in. What it looks like is it has packet loss and times out.

Gargate, I have Time Warner myself and am on the east coast, but do not experience this issue. Considering that it happens on the most "off peak" hours of the day, it sounds like network saturation in your area, or perhaps in the area where it is trying to make the hop.

Do you have problems with anything else at the time of the high latency / loss, or is it only SoD? Try WTFast or Battleping to see if it changes your routing at all and helps in that regard.

I run tracert and havent been on much in the last few days, it went from 1.6-4% lag to now 6-16% lag "in the last day or so" all tracert only affect this game. I can run my browser streaming several videos at once while running utorrent downloading up to 4 torrents at a time while playin an app game on FB (did all of those at once ;p) and get ZERO lag at anytime of day on anything but SoD.

If I had to guess there is some sort of memory useage error that is causing a hiccup, my reasoning for this is that in all the time I've played this game on this PC it is only recently that the memory error code will pop up and I have to restart my PC in order to even log in again. (This PC has not had any major changes, and runs smoothly on everything else I do with it.)

I remember getting memory issues like that way back in the early days of live. It was either a graphics card or driver issue.

when I first encountered the lag and memory error I found posts about the bit from live. I did a system restore and updated the drivers. The error msg hasn't come up since but the lag has stayed.

I've changed texture settings, resolution settings, patched fully, rerouted, did latency tests while running sod and other sites/programs, system restore, updated drivers and full installs. When in game if I stand still and don't do anything it goes down to around 6% now before 1.6, if I move cast, what ever it spikes and only on SoD.

and what I ment by "before" was prior to the most recent patch, before this whole issue came up my ping in game was around 30 and 0% packet loss now ping when standing still idle is around 70 packet loss went from 1.6 idle to 6%ish

I would still be interested to see if using a trial for battleping or wtfast helps at all.

I don't suppose you would be interested in trying a format on your system? Seeing as other people have had luck on completely different pc's. Might even try spinning up a virtual machine on your own system, if you know how, tosee if a fresh OS would even help.

Please try the other link I provided for Leatrix's latency fix. Just because one game doesn't crash or lag from a certain issue, that doesn't mean it absolutely can't be the problem.
