PC -PvP- Hitbox

Would there be anyway to increase the hitbox of a pc for pvp reasons. I'm not sure if this would effect mob v. pc hitboxes, but it would be a great change.

Reasons
It is impedingly difficult to pvp melee against melee. Jousting is damn near impossible, and anyone using a larger delayed 2 hander is at a disadvantage. This is also the reason casters/rangers have a huge advantage.

I know pvp changes aren't a priority right now, but I was wondering if this change ( if it's minor) could be implemented in an upcoming patch or whatever.

Telling you Qwai its more than just the hitbox in SoD. On live the hitbox was the same but the data transfer rate was faster or something because even on a dial up I still had no trouble getting rounds off every time in a joust. Soon as I would hit auto attack it would register the hit where there seems to be a sort of delay between pc to pc combat. But this isnt a pvp server anyways. ;)
 
yeah

its totally a possible fix I dont think they would be thinking aobut a pVp server on the very distant horizon if this prob couldnt be fixed. I also believe it has somthing to do with the delay bettween pc v pc that maybe helps reduce lag on the PvE side or somthing like that
 
oh and

also the fact that yeah sony had a commp for every zone and sod has just 1 box I think(not entirely sure) that could totally lead to somthing like this, and if thats the case maybe A pvp server would need to run lesszones or somthing who knows!
 
I find it hard to believe beacuse

on other way worse eqemu servers like ( wayy worse ) pvp hitting works, i dont understand why it wouldnt be possible for another server (maybe not this one) to work right, maybe its the version of eq used, i dont know, but I know that it is possible on emu and that the SoD team can do alot more with the program the others

Dragons, including bone dragons, have a certain problem with the way they are. I'm fairly sure this can be fixed.
 
My monk Korra was totally destroyed in pvp combat by a bard 4 levels below her without her ever landing a melee blow because he could run around singing a DoT and even if she was right next to him she would never land a melee hit if he was moving due to lag and small hitbox issues :(
 
I've said roughly 502981091291825912512^8271 times that the issue is not the hitbox, it's server/client sync.

I'd like to fix it, but it's not high priority, and it's a tricky thing to fix. The reason it works on "other servers" is the same reason you can't raid on those servers -- there is no cap on the updates you get from another client, which creates enormous lag when you have large groups of players.

yeah thats what I figured wiz, that it was set up for raid, but at least now I know its possible, that josequote had me worried that we'd be swinging into thin air for ever!

Thats been the forte of bard pvp since day one unfortunately, and has little to do with the server/client of both players being in synch. I say that because if the bard has any skills they could still avoid you np.
