patching troubles

I have been away for awhile,
I wanted to play SoD again so I downloaded through steam and set everything up like it says however,
when I try to initiate the patcher it says " error updating patcher, could not create SSL/TLS secure channel????

anyone have any ideas ?
I can log into anything else fine just not SoD..

1. Put your Windows 7 to rest already.

if 1) isn't an option:

• The patcher now requires TLS 1.2. If your patcher version is less than 1.2.5 and you get an SSL/TLS error, you may need to re-download the patcher from https://shardsofdalaya.com/files.htm
• If you're still running Windows 7, you may need to apply the following registry changes: https://www.smartftp.com/en-us/support/kb/2679 AND/OR install .NET Framework 4.7

Eww windows 10. While it does do some stuff better than 7, it does other things worse. It makes me sad too. Sadly when I finally can buy parts for a new PC MS has essentially forced me to use 10 by owning the gaming market with directX and disabling getting updates on 7 for newer hardware.
