patcher stops at Population Hashtable

when i try and get into EQ running patcher, it stops working when it gets to Population Hashtable. i was told by someone in game that you have to delete Files.txt repatch. I'm very computer illiterate .. and was wanted a simple walk through how i find or fix this problem please
 
Did you read the Official FAQ - This will answer all your questions thread?

My patcher keeps getting stuck when downloading file X or populating hash table.
If your patcher gets stuck, delete the file named "files.txt", and repatch all.
Try following the stops for getting stuck at "Getting Files List" (by Hasrett)

Disable your firewall(s)/antivirus/anti-spyware/P2P/P2P-privacy programs. This goes double for Windows Firewall

Files.txt is in your {Game} directory. Find it, delete it, try patching all again (hit the advanced button on the patcher). Good luck.
