Paladin AA confusion

I recently noticed that two of my AA abilities that I previously thought affected more than my group actually do not. The AAs are Hand of Piety and Protection of the Lady which provide a small heal and a brief magic damage reduction. I don't know if they used to be more than group or if I was just confused by their descriptions that both read they benefit those in the area. They affect my group only.

My suggestion would be to make these AAs a little bit.. useful. To have them do what they say in their descriptions, which is benefit those in a certain area (not necessarily raid-wide), they would be much more helpful and worth the points spent.

On a side note I have a personal problem which everyone is probably familiar with by now.. and thats my Lay Hands. For whatever reason I decided to invest in points in Advanced Empathy which restores all hp and sta. When my lay hands actually does become available (after being in one zone for over an hour w/o going LD or camping) I find that my advanced empathy does nothing for my stamina, although it does completely heal me. I don't know if this is connected to my other Lay hands bug causing my lay hands to depop every time I zone or die but it would be nice if it was fixed. :keke:

Seeing as how there aren't many active paladins with these AAs, I wondered what some of the staff thought some of the staff thought on this. Bump.

Protection of the Lady seems pretty useful even if it's group-only. That said, I'll mention your post when we discuss possible changes/tweaks to things.

I'm disallowing bumps for staff attention as of right now because of you (ladies and gentlemen, that's two bumps for staff attention in three minutes - impressive!). The SoD staff reads these forums all the time, and if they have something to say about it, they will do so with or without your tears.

Seemed like a better alternative than bothering staff in game and hassling them in irc the way other people do. Really though, because of me?

I think Protection of the Lady is *extremely* useful even if it's group only, making it raid wide or even "those in the area" would be overpowering for obvious reasons.

There is nothing wrong with Protection of the Lady. I think it works fine for what is was intended to be for. Shield a group of melee dps from ae damage for 25-30% of an encounter.

If improved LoH isn't returning stamina like advertised then I would say that is a problem however.

I agree Protection of the Lady can be useful at times (never extremely by any means) but Im a bit more interested in Hand of Piety and my Lay hands problem. My original statement was partly regarding just the difference between the description and what the ability actually did. I put two points into Hand of Piety before I realized a thousand hp to my group every 30-40 minutes isn't really gonna be of much help. If it were to affect those in the general vicinity as reads it would, however, be nice. I also confirmed with Gono and a couple others that their sta is replenished with the LH AA but mine simply is broken along with my LH timer. This is a great ability for restoring a MTs hp/sta in big fights. :toot:

Seeing as how there are like 2 active paladins with any real number of AAs I don't expect a lot of knowledge or feedback on my paladin suggestions, which is why I sometimes ask the opinions of staff and other vet players. Sorry if this was a problem.
