One mans view of 2.0 and neccessary changes.

The thing is that most of the encounters CAN NOT be done with anything less than a certain amount of healing, especially mobs which need to be split tanked (mirror golems for example or even double/triple pulls in IP). Now is this a balancing issue? It might be, but when the dps of the majority of the raid mobs has NOT changed, and you are trying to keep up one or two main tanks with at most 6 healers (2 clerics, 2 druids, 2 shamen) that leaves room for 3 healers per tank in the OPTIMAL situation. This also doesnt account for the first 5-10 % of the fight where shamen are most likely going to be slowing/debuffing the mob, dropping your healers down to 5 and maybe 4 people if you have one shamen working per mob if its 2.

mirror golems down with 5 healers, with the shaman slowing both

healer skill plays a huge role in encounters now, much much much before than it did previously

Be less of a condescending bastard, thanks.

What's condescending about speaking the truth? And why the hell should I listen to someone who is level 60~ giving strats on raid make up for content they haven't come within 3 galaxies of yet?

How about you explain to him the situation you are having. Maybe they are having the same problems in the mid levels too? You just sound stupid and ignorant.

My penis is bigger than both of yours, so yea you should just get over it.

On a side note Exodus ran a raid the other day with less than optimal class makeup and did fine (yea we were killing NDHK, but tonight we tried Sepulcher apparently so we must be doing something right. Cant say anything about that raid though I wasnt able to make it). I do believe skill is more important now than ever, with the ability to stack less of certain classes there is less room for redundancy or overlap. There was one monk and me on our raid in NDHK so we were the only pullers (and thank god Boca is as good as he is because apparently I suck).

Being vision impaired I prefer to NOT HAVE TO TYPE A NOVEL explaining myself to every single person regarding stuff they can learn by staying out of conversations and waiting until they reach that point in the game.

That said you don;t se eme commenting on the best way to export frisbees from Iceland do you?

Since nobody with half a brain would ever consider agreeing with you.

If water was 5 cents a gallon I wouldn't spend the quarter to flush you down. Mind your own guilds business.

It has nothing to do with my guild, it has everything to do with your demeanor towards people posting their thoughts in this thread. Done responding to this.

By the third post this thread was going downhill. And its a shame, people have said some valuable things.....and some less so.

I would like to see a new version of this in s&r minus the arguing about name changes and 'clever' one liners and other bs so people with something intelligent to say on either side can do so.

If I explained the circumstances of why certain zones just can't be walked into and "lol, stack dps so you don't need as much healing'd" then it woud be considered a spoiler and I'm not interested in spreading those to people.

It also frustrates me when my guildies make comments on requiring certain raid makeups for certain encounters and get met in return with exacting comments such as ....

Steel guy - "Everything in the game can be done with 5 healers"

or

Random guy with half a dozen level 50's - "Y dun you stack dps so you don't need as many healers, lol"

Thanks, never crossed our minds....

They do more to stagnate this thread and any good that may come out of it than the senseless bickering thats plugged up the last page.

I think the idea is that we've been able to do all of the content on our tier with 5 healers, and that when the raid cap of 2 of each class is implemented, that will probably be the maximum unless a raid brings 2 shamans. If the cap of 2 is being implemented and the content in IP/Thaz requires more than 5-6 healers, then obviously it will need to be balanced. I think its clear enough that we're not making any statements on content we haven't had experience with yet because that wouldn't make sense.

Edit: the idea is to emphasize that every encounter in the game _should_ be balanced such that you can do it with 5 healers once the 2 per class cap is put into effect

Steel guy - "Everything in the game can be done with 5 healers"

i said it earlier and i'll say it again, 6 healers is the cap.. if the game requires more than 6 healers, then the game needs to be retuned.. what's so difficult about this concept?

just because you guys choose to run 9 healers in a temporary setup, doesn't mean that's how it will stay.. i don't believe anyone has said whether the 21 cap will be 2 or 3 classes

I agree with Duma. I wont tell you the sercret of the universe ( :tinfoil: ) or explain physics to you, but dont tell us our problems with raiding the zones we raid. And it doesnt even boil down to classes we can take, cause we can take what we need, it is about not wanting to leave people out.
