Old Combat Music

Hello, I was just wondering if there is a way, or if anyone knows how to activate old ********* combat music (auto attack music) (pre luclin) in shards of dalaya, I cant stand the combat music we have now I just turn it off but I sure do miss that old combat music, if anyone knows how or if its not even possible I'd really like to know, also, does anyone know of an interface that can be used that closely resembles the old classic interface of *********? Thank you all for your time and any feedback at all would be much appricieated.

I really don't have much idea at all about what I'm talking about, but back in the day when I'd patch live, it'd dl a bunch of blah.mp3 files occasionally with names to match zones and stuff. Would it be a possibility to say for example take a MasterofPuppets.mp3, rename it to whatever the music is named for autoattack or for a particular zone or whatever (like southnewport.mp3 or whatever), replace that file wherever it is in our folders, and say whenever we go to that particular zone would it start jamming to Puppets instead of whatever it was normally? I maybe talking out my ass or it might have changed a long time ago, but I read this thread and the idea popped in my head. Sorry, too much coffee.

In your C:\Program Files\E*******t folder (or wherever you have it), there are two files: combattheme1.mp3 and combattheme2.mp3. If you have your old EQ disks, I think you can just find those two (?) files and copy over them. I'd rename the old ones, just to be safe, although I don't think it's going to prevent you from fighting or anything if they're not there.

All this is just conjecture, of course, although I've had similar thoughts.

OK, hold on. Just tried it with a random MP3. Didn't work, so there must be something else you need to change. I know it can be done, though, maybe it's because I was in the game when I renamed the files, etc.

Back on Live you could change the music. All you have to do is replace the mp3, *but* the mp3 you replaced it with had to be the exact same size. So if combattheme1.mp3 is 16324 bytes you need an mp3 of exactly that size to trick the game into thinking it's the right one.

I'm not sure if the same thing applies to SoD but that's how we did it a long time ago.

OK, yeah, it does work. I forgot about the random part, and when I tested the other day, it was using the other mp3 in there. And you can't change it while in the game, so it didn't work at first. Doesn't look like they have to be the same size or anything. So, if you have your old disks, you should be able to dig up that music. Ah, the memories.
