Nyja's Fang drops from Nyja the Horizon in East Dragonhorn Keep:

The ratio and stats aren't all that special compared to things that are easier to obtain.

Ratio is worse on Nyja's Fang, 0.555 compared to 0.619 on the longsword and 0.615 on the Fang of Si'Thl'Li'Thara. More dex, but less other stats and no HP. The other 2 are also droppable. The only things the fang has going for it is that it has 20 SV Magic, which is admittedly very nice.

My issue is with the proc. Gravity Flux is a 230ish AOE DD, and throws the target into the air. The problem is that it is AOE, not PBAOE, so the wielder gets hit by the Gravity Flux as well. At 168 MR, I rarely resist it.

The proc would help with aggro making up for some of its shortcomings in ratio and stats, however with the wielder being fluxed, it makes it very difficult to maintain position and therefore aggro.

Could the proc be made PBAOE, or better yet single target, instead of AOE so it wouldn't affect the wielder?
 
That is a painful proc. Not only does it hit the user, but it will break mez too.

I don't think I would ever use a weapon like that, no matter how great the stats.

Nyja is really not that dificult at all to kill. Definately less effort than questing Ruby Hilted and probably about the same level as Si'Thl'Li"Thara, sure the proc sucks but its fun to play around with. Get higher MR.
 
I tend to disagree.

The RHLS quest is time consuming, but It's not hard to obtain in a skills/level sense. You can obtain the RHLS quest xping in shadowdale in your high 40's (the Najads being the toughest of the 3 mobs to kill) . Nyja takes a well equipped group and a half of high 50's to kill. This hardly seems "easier" especially when Nyja hits comparable to the elite drakes.
 
Any official comment on this Fang? We recently killed Nyja again and this time the fang rotted due to the undesirable effect.
 
Just in terms of the rhls...The Najads harder than those treants? While admitidly they aint amazingly hard, they're alot tougher than the Najads. Although, the treants and all of the lovely ads in the zone make for some fun times.
 
IMO Nyja's Fang is a toy. Be happy the admins have a sense of humor. Getting some fun as a raid reward is at least as good as getting gear to do another raid.
 
If you think its bad that the AoE hits you, imagine how Nyja felt when she was eating and that thing procced. Must have been one hell of a tooth ache.
 
This item will get changed to a single target gflux proc rather than an AOE gflux.

I also plan to improve the ratio a little.

Exactly! Heres my guide to getting a ton of loot and circumventing whatever loot system your guild uses :)

- Item drops for the first time, no one wants it because stats arent too great (Klazka, Infused Chainmail Coif, etc)
- loot it with little competition and make a long winded post about how it should be better (that is, if it really should be)
- It gets upgraded and then the rest of the guild wants it but it never drops again :lol: (Infused Chainmail Coif hi Thoias :p)
- Repeat until Wiz realizes that he's being updated on every piece of loot you win ;(

Nevermind. I don't have the time or patience or motivation to write such a longwinded post. Besides, it fo sho wouldn't end up better than the 5 other raid weapns I have rotting in my inventory while I bang away at a drum everywhere I go :( (Oh hi Fjorleif and Stormrazor!)

But really, that weapon needs something, even if it's only some hot graphic. I'll let Rouean make a long-winded post if he wants it looked at :p
 
bah you dont see people calling ford motors and complaining about the 1996 mustang not being fast enough...so stop complaining about the stats of old items...i agree the item isnt that great as in risk/reward...but at the time it was made it most certainly was...so move on..dont complain and just try to get those easier better items :)
 
Um ... thanks for your opinion, but did you miss the part where this is a suggestions and requests thread. If you bothered to read the thread, you'd see in this case it was worth the time to post. Wiz agrees it needs a change and will be doing so ... but thanks for trolling! :D

To be honest, the fact that the gflux alone hits YOU as well as the mob you're fighting makes the weapon useless. Did you miss that part?
