I finally found the solution to this problem. I noticed that the 'dual core' bug also applies to Intel processors and tried doing the fix on a whim. It worked fine. It doesn't really make sense that the crash seems to be video-related and a processor fix remedies it but.. it worked for me. I've been playing dual boxed with winamp open since 10am with no problems.
