I really like the Valk/Kish-Ka battles, I think it is really cool that they attack and conquer eachother's areas, and eventually one comes out on top, only to start over again. I love that you can influence this to eventually cause named mobs to spawn, and just the overall concept is cool.
I wondered if there were any plans to do this type of thing with any other areas, I think it could spice up some areas. I thought of a few places that I could see this type of thing implemented, perhaps even on a larger scale incorporating large portions of zones, and just thought I'd mention them and see how others felt about it.
1.
The tal'yan/lizards in greenmist. There are lizard camps in OSM and Yaralith is swarming with tal'yan. Maybe have the 2 groups become opposing factions from Yaralith and OSM who fight over possesion of the greenmist areas.
2.
Orcs and the northern Giant camp in EW. Maybe have the Orcs send war parties toward the giant fort, and if successful, take over that camp, and vice verse. The Orc fort in the center of the zone is a pretty popular place to grind xp so maybe there is another location in the zone that could be used as a staging area for the Orc attacks, and that would be the place the giants can conquor instead of the center camp. Along similar lines, in Great Divide, the NE giant fort and the dragons in the caves near the middle of the zone along the river.
3.
Everfrost, there are a few camps of orcs and there is the backend of blackburrow. Myabe have the Gnolls strike at the orc camps out in the more open half of the zone in an effort to weaken them, eventually taking some of those camps, or being thwarted in the attempt. Probably want to leave the gnoll sentinel area free from attacks, as well as the orcs in the newbie hunting grounds.
4.
The corrupted Centaurs and and the Liodreth in Sbadlands. There arent a whole lot of structures in that zone that arent already included in something you dont really want to mess with, so maybe have them meet on the open fields somewhere and just duke it out, with the victors leaving a standing force there to be attacked by the opposing faction later on.
5.
The Elite bandits and the footpads in Nbadlands. Maybe have them fight over that little camp that is near the intersection of the paths just north of the middle of the zone.
6.
At low levels in Mistwoods you are sent out to serve the Erudin Defenders in killing kobolds. But Kobolds arent really threatening Erudin, they never attack it. Maybe change that, have them attack, and though the defenders in mistwoods would undoubtedly always win, you could help them to hold off the kobold attacks for a tiny bonus like some coin, maybe a couple thousand xp and a small faction increase (maybe only like 2000 xp or something, and only like 5 times for faction and xp, after that just a few gold reward that you can do over and over forever.) Make the attacks occour only every 30 mins or something, so it isnt something people could do repeatedly in a short period to make nice low level money, just an occasional bonus even for whoever happens to be hanging out there at the time. Make the kobolds level 10 or something, something fairly benign so a lowbie/newbie can participate and help give some meaning to the defender's insignia that you get.

How about NPCs raiding eachother for supplies? Silver Crown is a Trading company after all, maybe have them spawn in a caravan of soldiers once in a while, with the idea that they are escorting goods back to some base, and they have to do this slowly on foot along a path. Suddenly a group of Blackscale npcs appear, attack them, and try to make of with those supposed supplies. If no players come to Silver Crown's aid, the Blackscale beat a hasty retreat with the supplies accross a few zones to one of their bases. If they make it back, they won the day, if a group of players chooses to intervene, those players have to destroy them entirely, so nobody gets back to the base. Open this up to players from all factions without any faction hits by simply saying that the blackscale assumed that any pursuers were of course the silver crown that they had taken the goods from, no questions asked.
This convoy could originate at the Heartlands zoneline in Ebadlands, where the Silver Crown would spawn and begin walking towards the EBL/NBL zoneline. They would walk, oblivious to any mobs, and mobs would be ablivious to them, through EBL, NBL, WBL, Centaur Hills and dead end at the Centaur/Newport zoneline at which point the journey was a suceess, and the goodies were recieved into newport. Along the way the would be attacked a few times in each zone, and each time they would stop, fight, and lose if unaided. The players would therefore determine who won the day by whether or not they intervened. After the fight their numbers would be fully restored in preparation for the next fight (more silver crown would pop to replace those that the blackscale had managed to kill).
This could take place at dawn each game day (or whatever seems reasonable) on a predictable timeschedule because they would need to be defended to make it through even the first zone. the rewards would not be as nice as the war's, and the mobs not nearly as tough, so that a raid was not needed for it. I don't know what would be proper loot, it would have to be crappy enough to allow the focus to be on the event itself instead of the aquisition of loot, but would still need to be interesting enough for players to try it out once in a while. I would expect the majority of the time for them to go unaided and be destroyed.
I'm not asking for all of these to be worked in, these were JUST IDEAS of where npc vs npc could be worked in. I fully expect NONE of these to be made a part of Dalaya, I would simply like to show how interesting I, and perhaps others, find these setups so that dev's would keep these in mind when working on content.
