Since admins are generally too busy to run events and clerks just generally plain don't do it, we're going to start hiring Event Masters the way we hire Quest Designers. Their only responsibility will be to plan and run events (they will be announced on beforehand at the EM's discretion, but generally not, so don't ask).
You must be able to write largely correct English on the fly, consistently, and have some manner of flair for storytelling. In many ways, this is like designing spontaneous quests, albeit they're generally shorter and can both be harder and easier since you have to do things on the spot, but you also have a great deal of flexibility in fixing things that don't go as planned.
The expected amount of events per week is around 2 for an individual EM (more is always better, but we'd rather see a consistent, low amount of quests per week than an initial spurt of productivity and the nothing), with about one big event per month or so (how big it is depends on the experience of the EM). All events must be very roughly planned in advance, and must at the very least have rewards and level range planned out. They will be subject to admin approval.
To apply for a position as Event Master, send me a PM on the forums with a sample self-contained event you think would be neat to run. Do not send me a long, intricate quest that will affect any sort of storyline because there is more to running events than glorious and epic storylines, though you will eventually run those too.
NOTE: You should keep in mind that you will have to direct every single NPC individually because it isn't viable to write quest scripts for every single event, so making wave events is a pretty bad idea. Focus on story, not action.
No more applications after the 19th.
