I'm running win7 which I think is the problem (see below), hopefully someone can give me some info. Computer sounds are fine, no problems, MP3's, CD's no problems, but I can't get game music/sounds In SoD. Other games are fine btw. I've tried going through the options and switching it on, then go into game, out of game switch them off, back and forth to see if could get any change. 1 time this worked and I had sound that session playing, but it was gone next time... I've checked in-game the alt-o and the volumes are all up (changing them made no difference). Here's where I think win7 has something to do with it. I've tried changing the eqclient sound to true, it shows 0, win7 asks me for administrator privelegde (I am the admisinstrator), I give it and it says the file is in use (I am not playing, the file should not be in use). I go out to the SoD folder, check the properties it shows them as being read only, I try and change this, it asks for administrator priviledge again, I see a quick progress bar as it re-sets every file (but then when I re-check the properties it shows them AGAIN as read only! Wondering if this is my problem right there, and why? Why won't it let me remove the read only? Anyone? I've scanned the folder for viruses (Kaspersky antivirus 8), I've scanned the comp, nothing found....

1) in options in the loader, sound should be enabled.
2) inside the game, alt-o for options, various sound options. Sound volume might be set low.
3) check the ini file for the sound options there.

This might be a different problem. If it's 0, that's why your sound is off. Why it's being in use, I can't imagine.

Read this page. Download the process explorer and run it. It will tell you what process or program is locking the file.
As to why you can't seem to set the file property to writable, I do not know. Windows is somewhat goofy with permissions and I have trouble often too.
