=======================

Last night I was waiting for snowskin to spawn on my monk so I thought i'd kill the fish in blackburrow in hope of this necklace to drop for my rogue...

Anyways my luck paid off and only after a few rounds of killin the fish, blackfin spawned and I killed him, necklace dropped but it gave me the looting a no drop warning, I thought no biggy... Ill loot it anyways on my monk.. I looked at the necklace and its not even pristine. Is this item by design? No drop and no pristine?

all no drop items can never be pristine.

And yes, I am pretty sure it is by design. An item that easy to obtain with aura of ferocity could not be droppable without losing the aura as it would be way over the pp value an item from a zone like that should be at.

Pristine is a flag given to items that are tradeable. The Pristine bonus is there to encourage people to hunt the gear themselves rather than buying a slightly degraded version from a farmer or someone casting off gear for an upgrade. As no drop gear can not be traded there is no point in a pristine and degraded version. It is what it is.

Yes I know what pristine is, I have alot of pristine items are... I was just shocked at the item that droped was not "pristine" since I did get the drop for myself is all.

I love the pristine effect, it rocks!

My main question was, since I killed the "really rare fish" and got his necklace, when I looted it, it was not flagged as pristine even though I killed it and looted it...

Since nobody else could have gotten it for you, because the item is no drop, there is no bonus for getting it for yourself.
