News. I am wondering why when we start the game, we agree the SoD license, but then we read the EQ live news. Is there a reason why you do not just overwrite eqnews.txt with your news during the patch? Just wondering, could keep those people who do not come to the site often up to date!
 
probly becouse sod doesnt have a news feed on its patcher thus no one would realy see it inless thay hit the news button at the server select. besides most people vist the site at lest once aday (or 50times like me)
 
We want people to come to the site, otherwise we would include patch notes in the patch downloads every Wednesday.
 
Lol I mean the news that is shown when you first login to your account. and you may not like like it, but I know a lot people do not come to the site unless they cannot log in.
 
What if you put the faq in the news? New players could push the button and have it all at their fingertips. Couldn't hurt, at the least.

I think this would be really handy, assuming they read it. :)

In the Beginners guild, there are several questions that come up often:

* What are specialization points? (Read what it says when you do a /cmd specialization)
* How do I rename my pet? (before casting a pet type /cmd petname <newname>)
* Why can't I attack? (usually death effects, or holding the sword backwards)
* Does death debt stack? (No, it caps at 100%)
* Why can't I get mana? (out of food or water)
* Can anyone summon me food & water plz? (No, only people who have that spell)
* Can anyone port me? (No, only people who have that spell)
* Can anyone twink me plz? (No, this is the Beginners Guild, and beginners often suck at twinking others)
* Do all of the quests from Live still work here? (Nope)
* The Wiki doesn't have this quest on it, why not? (Because players fill out the Wiki. Now its your turn).
* Where the F* are the soul binders? (Use /cmd bind)
* How do I get plats? (Go hunt, no its not handed to you. Well, it is, but in little pieces).
* I looked everywhere and can't find the book to PoK. (there is no PoK in this game, the response is always harshly negative or strongly positive, and its a great filtering tool to decide if you like them or not)
* Why can't I have my stupid name? (Its stupid, and its a combination of words, plus its offensive, the Gms told you 3 times to change it, and yet here you are arguing about it and your 1 hour of jail time and the additional 2 hours added to that. All you had to do was read the game rules).
* How do I leave the guild? (Target yourself and type /guildremove)
* Why can't I play all 6 of my characters if they are on different computers or ISPs? (No. Its called the rules of the game)
* Can I ignore the rules of the game? (Yes, and goodbye Jailbird)
* do you mean they ACTUALLY enforce the rules of the game? (Yes, and goodbye Jailbird)
* That sucks, why didn't they tell us the GMs are in the newbie guild? (Sorry, and goodbye Jailbird)
* Is the Jail time in game time, or real time? OMFG, you mean I get out when I am 32 in RL??? (I dunno, you tell me)
* Why don't people talk to me? (We use /ignore for Jailbirds, especially those with stupid names)
