A couple of friends and I just started on WR a little over a week ago and we're really enjoying it so far. I think you guys have done a good job, at least from what we've seen so far.
However, I do have a suggestion. I think the newbie-ish quests are too hard to find.
I have a lvl 11 enchanter and my friend has a lvl 17 shadowknight. The other night, I was chatting with him over /tell regarding how there's supposedly newbie quests but we can't find any. Coincidentally (or not) Wiz was online and about a minute later we see an /ooc, (paraphrasing, not his exact words) 'There are newbie and newbie-ish quests in the following zones... Newport, Erudin, etc... check with your guild master or other guild NPCs...'
So I went back to my guild master in the caster trainer area of Newport. Hailed my trainer. Nothing. Hailed all the other trainers. Nada. Hailed all of the spell vendors, the herb vendor, every NPC that was standing around Nothing. Went over to the Office of the People. Still nada. Tried the bank and a few other vendors... still nothing.
I believe you that the newbie quests are there, but what good are they if they can't be found? When you wander around for a while and no NPC will talk to you, it gives the illusion that there are no quests - or, at least, no quests for your class/race/level. Okay, I'm not necessarily asking for hand-holding or an Allakhazam-esque FAQ, but I am suggesting that non-quest NPCs should at least say something along the lines of, "If you're looking for work, go talk to Little Bo Peep in the Jewel Box in North Newport. I heard she's lost her sheep." Especially when it's so easy to just go out, kill a bunch of gnolls, and assemble/buy a full set of newbie armor just from that. (By level 8, my enchanter had a full set of cloth armor and self-crafted silver jewelry.) It really seems like a newbie's time would be better spent killing newbie zone mobs rather than searching for a quest that (from their perspective) may or may not exist.
