Newb Problems >.<

Ok... I just started, and when I first created a character, it ended up in a brown valley with a gate behind him. I could walk around alright with no problems, but I couldn't figure out how to talk to the NPCs that were scattered throughout the area...
I tried doubleclicking and rightclicking but I couldn't get anything to work...
I got killed by some show creature thing, and died.
I respawned at the start of that area, and my player view got screwy... now I dunno how to get my character to walk normally with the right camera angle which follows him.

I fried some stuff out and founf that F9 changes the character view, but I can't find the initial player camera view which was the starter one...

I'm completly new, and I dunno what to do...

Hehe, you come from other games, I'm not sure if there's a tutorial pop-up, but there's a guide by the gate that you can hail by pressing the h key. I'd also press alt+o to bring up the options screen and take a look at your keyboard set up, that should help get you started.

Think it is F9 to change camera view and hold shift and arrows in some views to move the camera. In first person view Page up looks up, Page down is down.

Thanks for the tip on the Alt+O and the h-key ^.^
I didn't know those did that.

Yea but before I was using the right-click to move the character view direction and the mouse wheel to zoom in/out. but since I died, It won't let me switch to that view ability going through the selections on F9 *i've gone through all of them*

:( :( :( :( :(

Maybe it would be possible to make that Windows-something-or-other bar (alt + w?) be visible by default? I realize a lot of the buttons in there won't work in SoD (the NPC journal, for one thing), but when I started the game, I was desperately looking for the options window and couldn't find the right keyboard combo for the life of me.

Also, in Alt O, if you want to use the scroll button on mouse to pan in and out, you must make sure the scroll mouse button box is checked. Could be wrong on the actual name of "scroll mouse botton" but you'll know it when u see it.

"/note" (brings up and ingame notepad. very helpful.)
"/cm bind" (binds u to a spot)
"/stats" (shows heat and other facts about toon)
"/role" (do this twice) if someone says your tbugged (took me an eon to figure out
what Tbugged was.....) also, if you send a tell and do not see
it...that means your tbugged too or they are.
"/time" (game time and actual time)
"/em declares Ligon is the best warrior in all of Dalaya" You must type all info within quotations for this to work. (states the truth--try this one
at your first opportunity =)

Small list to help you out... the /note or /notes is the most USEFUL, and welcome to Dalaya.
