new to sod cant find eqgame.exe

I dont see eqgame.exe after installing EQ platinum so when I direct it to the eq folder I get Downloading file C:\Users\Vista\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\3VFMYIC4\Mumble.exe
 
Im not a real computer techy kinda guy. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled every and I get the same message everytime. I have no clue what mumble even is
 
Install it to the root..

So it looks like C:\\GAME_GOES_HERE or C:\\Anything_that_isn't_program_files

Vista likes to do annoying shit if you don't...like hide parts of the program in AppData. Dunno if it will do that to SoD since I have not installed it under Vista but it has caused issues for me with some other programs.

As to what Mumble is...it's voice communication software, like Ventrilo or Teamspeak. You may want to be sure the Start Mumble box is unchecked in the SoD patcher and maybe that will fix your issue right up.

This is because you have run the SoD patcher from the web interface, instead of saving it to a folder. Downloading Mumble.exe IS supposed to happen.

If you installed EQ platinum to C:\EQ, then I recommend making a C:\EQ\sod folder and saving the patcher to that folder. Run it from that folder, and you'll see "Downloading file C:\EQ\sod\Mumble.exe", followed by a whole bunch of other downloading.

Once the downloading is done, it will either start the game directly, or will start EQW if you have that box checked. Point EQW at C:\EQ\eqgame.exe if you're using EQW, and you're good to go!

Note: Mumble.exe is about 10M, so depending on the speed of your connection, it can take a few minutes.
