New laptop, keyboard won't work

I've just installed SoD on my new laptop and neither the laptop keyboard or an external keyboard that I use for gaming are working in game. Not sure how to troubleshoot this one... any ideas?
 
This is a relatively common problem, and has been answered before, though I can't find it immediately off hand. I will look for it for a few minutes, but after that, you're on your own =p

Seriously, though, the answer's in these forums somewhere, I just forget the workaround.
 
Strange. Didn't do anything and I ran the game again and the keyboard works fine. Odd that the number of times I restarted it before it didn't work... oh well!
 
As irony would have it, I'm having the same issue now. My keybard stopped working at all if I use (a non supported version of) EQW.
 
4) Keyboard bug - that happens, not terribly often, but enough to annoy. When you're just running one client, you can alt-tab (or windows key, if that's your OS) out, click on the top bar of your session, then get back in game and all is well. Although I've noticed when boxing, that fix works until you slt-tab between sessions again. Once you get back, you'll be KB bugged again. I just get to a safe spot and re-log.





That's what I was thinking of. Sadly, it didn't help me. Maybe it'll help other though.
 
Seems to be kind of an intermittent problem for me. I'm more worried about the performance I'm getting right now. I think it mostly has to do with mouse sensitivity or something but whenever I use the mouse to look around it's real stuttery. Definitely shouldn't be getting any FPS issues, as I've got an nvidia geforce 9600m and a core 2 duo 2.4 ghz processor along with 6 gb of ddr2 ram in this laptop. Can play oblivion on max settings np.
