New guy, Roleplaying?

with me it all depends on crowd, setting, and if its a bunch of leveling or in town/on the way to town banter. DnD this is not, and dispite how good it is compared to tabletop gaming there are limits that roleplay purists would find restrictive. Eh, I won't even attempt the rp mess till i get familliar with things in general, meaning lots of questing and or killing.
 
I was in a major RP guild on Xev (Last Exodus which morphed into Legends of Exodus and so on) and loved it. RP adds dimensions to the game while giving depth to your characters. I played a gnome necromancer who was always covered in grease and had bits of peices from tinkered things on him constantly. Oh, and I had a bed that slid under my workbench to sleep in. =D

Absolutely love it!

Don't like when people try to tell you how to RP though. Some people have concepts of how a dark elf is supposed to act and holler at you if you don't fit their concept. That just ain't right!
 
Indeed. Just because I'm a necro does not mean I'm going to be some moody night loving screwball. I enjoy the sun. i enjoy other people. I also however enjoy making use of the box souls come in when they're nolonger being used....helps to have an instaint friend to fight for you when you're puney.
 
Some times... well most times... you can find people nicer with "lol )" rather than "Very un-intellectual comment from such a wise man, ha-ha-ha" kind things.

But like many others said before, if you start roleplaying, people might follow, and that'd make a suited group for you. ;)
