New blue ointments.

I understand wyrm hide armor /wyvern hide armor was devaluated. Too easy to do, so was sold for 30 pp a piece. adding another reagent to blue ointment sure makes it harder to do... but, after cleaning hald DN twice I oly got 2 greymoss. Ok, so it's harder now... I'm ok with that, except that it makes tailored augments almost imposible. Let's see them:

- Quick farming on giants/cyclops for 1 blood (easy)
- Semi-slow farming at SG for 1 tangleweed (they are not that common, sometimes you need 2 hours killing for one, and KK doesn't have a better rate)
- Farming DN for 1 greymoss (long time, I say)
- Farming Sorc's for 2 kobold furs (ultra rare)

This addes to more than 4 hours average, just farming for one. and those times are couting with a wizard, and a tank (or similar), both level 65, and both quite AA'd, with OP/sep gears. I mean with this... a starting tailor would need what? 7 hours? 8 hours? grouping just for 1 attempt? I say it's insane, and too hard now, except for already skilled tailors.

Blue oints allready had a huge time/moneysink involved with them, the Tangleweeds have gone for up to 1300p/stack in some cases. Farming them is painfully slow and buying them is nearly impossible in the quantities needed for all but the most fat walleted players.

Even with all the money on SoD the supply of weeds is quite limited. Maybe this is simply due to a recent jump in tailors reaching the top end and fighting over the same small pool of weeds idk, but they never were abundent and the weeds alone became the reason I put my own tailoring on hold at about 220ish skill.

And I also agree with you on the ice kobold furs, just too rare imo. There is hardly anybody xping there so buying them is difficult at best and you run into the same issues here you do with the Tangleweeds. Insanely low quantities available for purchase and/or farmage.

Now I have not spent enough time in DN to pass judgement accurately on the drop rate of Moss but it seemed quite uncommon to say the least. Time will tell on the price the market sets for these but im sure it too will be outrageous and just add another time/money sink into a combine which was not lacking in that area.

You could always find the other type of fur that can be used for quality 5 but noone has bothered to look for!

But yeah, I'll consider removing greymoss again. We'll see.

this reply seems to be a BIG HINT or something...

Even so (and I've been seeking more furs.. just haven't found) you still need way moe time for tailored augments than for sithed ones. Couldn't you just make them to be fashioned with another ointmen, or something? It's like... dunno... too much camping for just 30 mana... And they were aleady hard to do for starters... tangleweeds are not THAT common. Honestly, best solution, i my opinion, would be nerf wyrm hide drop rate. That would keep same difficulty for augments, while efectively hardening wyrm armor... same for wyvern, of course.

Oh, and temporally, at least price on greymoss is 100 pp each..... and noone selling

Only thing I see this really doing is harming anyone else who may want to take up tailoring effectively doubling the amount of time needed.. as of right now with tangleweeds... it has taken myself over 3 months of camping them to just now being almost complete and still short by like 100 or so. Tangleweeds with their rarity and demand for augments and the amount of tailors out there also skilling / will skill up eventualy will keep tangleweed well over 50p a pop because very few ever hit the market and very few outside select groups hunt them down atm.. Also not to mention the recent mass buyout on wyvern/wyrm armor causing more weed demand if anyone wants to get any piece of armor.. it takes 800~ combines are so to GM so an easy 40k value in those alone have to be blown.. Now if the 100p on each graymoss is warented your talking about 100+50+15 for around 165p per combine to try and skill up which is absolutly insane as the armor itself will never fetch 200p+ to try and make up for it. Which leaves only one way to get them for most everyone and that is to camp them yourself and since its seemingly just as rare if not rarer than weeds... it may take someone well over 6months and 200+aa just to even be close to trying to drive up tailoring now.

Now whats this gonna do to augments? Your looking at an increase from 150s to 300s for high quality which will cut their demand aswell as this starts to invade the smithing area and people ramp up their plate armors first with xEQs etc and JC augments on their jewels before they would want to touch tailoring augments.. i mean why settle for a mid grade on one type when you can get the best of type3 or for a little more the best of type2? Now for tailoring xEQs the cost for furs is 100p a pop or so combined with your now 100 graymoss 50 tangleweed 55 platinum threadand 10p other, thats around 415 just to make an xEQx tailoring aug and then few can make them aswell so your looking at around 500-600~ for those which again will drive people first to smithing and jc before they dare buy a tailoring aug less they are out of those slots first or just dont care.

If jacking augment prices up is your goal then there is something else to be considered and that is the progression of the augments in tailoring themselves.. you go from ointment to green to red to blue but to blue again.. now everything else at the GM level of significant value uses violet ointments and naturaly that is the next one in the chain; however a change like this will have about the same effect as adding graymoss but will make the augment cost around 600-700p to make and sell for 700-800 per which is completely out of line of the cost of the other top end augments

The only realistic way to skill tailoring to gm before this change is to have full support of your guild and everyone of them sending back weeds they collect... without this ability of having 30+ people xping constantly in sirens and kedge a tailor is doomed to slave on for months on end for weeds alone if not more.. and with graymoss now added; any new tailors are pretty much shutdown without a guild supporting them completely.. and when your talking about something with a value of over 120k+ pp to skill on vs tank charms.. thats a very bad position for any new tailor to be in.

Well.. enjoy the read... this is just my view on the state of tailoring as it is right now..

Edit: it seems the shorthand for exceptional quality had another meaning here and made reading that second paragraph abit weird lol

I'm going to up the drop rate of tangleweeds considerably but leave greymoss in. That way it amounts to the same amount of farm time but not just in the same zone.

I made a pass through DN this morning and it didnt seem to bad... I'd say the 100pp offer for them is abit overflated and after the initial period passes they will fall down to 40-50 range as random people get them and sell them off and weed much more in the economy due to the constant xping in kedge and sirens since weed will probly outpace moss since most high level people hate to xp in DN and only people either farming cash or trying to lvl up go there usually. I've encounted some resistance in going there but shouldnt be a problem for guild... others need to make some good friends fast if they want a decent amount of moss or wait weeks on end to try and buy at a more sane price.

Edit: The lower levels farming them currently seem alot easier to deal with aswell... i been getting a good supply at 50p per already and with the change to tangleweed not much will change cept whos getting the money which isnt always a bad thing either.

Just to make it public knowledge... the answer to his riddle is stormwolf fur.. im sure some might have guessed aswell since i started buying it up to make xEQx augs since today or tomorrow I turn GM which is the only real person who should be making them... not many people in a position to aquire such knowledge so not surprising it was in the dark for so many months. I didnt want to really tell either long ago since the market was being pinned and controled vs free market system of today :p

Hey Zaira, you see this? Elasia is the only real person who should be making these augs!

Hum, no wonder I was unable to find item... except WW, stormwolves are Giant faction based mobs. I am Giant faction... so is my guild... no wonder we were unable to find wolf fur
