New accounts don't work?

I haven't been around in about a year. I tried to log onto my old account, but either my password is wrong or it just doesn't work anymore. That's fine, so I try to make a new account to start over from scratch. I signed up, it said my account was created (though I can't log onto boards without doing some copy/pasting, since I get redirected to the old address when I enter my password), but my username and password aren't accepted at the game login prompt.

Am I just out of luck? :sadf:
 
It's... sort of on. They're changing web servers, so the links for the forums, logging in, and posting are still pointing to the old address, which no longer works. I did this by putting "209.172.32.20" (the new web address) in place of www.shardsofdalaya.com in all the links, and was eventually able to post. But unless it remembers me, it's too much of a pain to keep doing that just to post. Besides, I'm at work.

Anyway, they had a database corruption a couple of weekends ago. Look at the instructions on the front page, and at the top of the general SoD discussion forum. Basically, if you can remember your email and your character names, you can reset your password.

To register a new account, go to the front page - there's a link there with the 209 address that should work.

Thank you much for responding. I don't seem to have any problem with the forums if I paste the 209.172.32.20 and such, but I still can't get into SoD. I created a new account from scratch and everything, but it still says my password and username are incorrect. I followed every direction I could find.

I just want to know if I'm doing something wrong, or if its a known problem and there's a solution in the works. I mean, I brand new account should work, right?
 
I did use the 209.172.32.20 address when I signed up. And just to make sure, I tried registering again under the same name. It said that my game account does exist, so apparently the signup process worked.

Finally I made yet another new game account just a few minutes ago. I get the same problem. It might be on my end, but I don't see how.

But thank you anyway, it's the thought that counts.
 
Has anyone created a new account within the past few days and had it work? I really want to know if I'm alone on this.

Not being able to play makes me want to play even more. ;(
 
I got it working now - yay me. I patched to live servers again, then repatched all of the SoD files. For some reason that fixed it.
