New 66k charm suggestion

I'm curious if there's any interest in implimenting new 66k tier charms. Currently there are two charms within this tier:

Charm of the Nemesis
AC: 16
Skill Mod: Backstab +15
Effect: Truesight (Worn)
DEX: +20 AGI: +20 HP: +120
Critical Strike: +3%
Recommended level of 55

Trueshot Charm
AC: 20
Skill Mod: Archery +15
Effect: Truesight (Worn)
DEX: +20 WIS: +20 HP: +100 MANA: +100
Critical Strike: +3%
Recommended level of 55

Although both of these charms could benifit multiple classes, the skill mods and stat distribution make them specialized for a Rogue and Ranger respectively. My suggestion is to create new charm(s) within the 66k tier which would appeal to a larger range of classes, to give more options to players aspiring for higher tier charms before Juggernaut/Diabolic and others. Easy and straightforward examples would be:

Charm of Assault
AC: 15
Skill Mod: Offense +10
Effect: Truesight (Worn)
STR: +20 DEX: +20 HP: +120
Critical Strike: +3%
Recommended level of 55

Charm of Fortification
AC: 20
Skill Mod: Defense +10
Effect: Truesight (Worn)
STA: +20 AGI: +20 HP: +120
Damage Reduction: +3
Recommended level of 55

These are melee-centric examples, as a Monk I'm not sure what kind of caster related skill mods would be appealing. Perhaps +Channeling? I only use +Defense and +Offense here as an example, I'm unsure of the balancing ramifications of these mods. I'm hesitant to suggest Skill Mods such as +1H Slashing because people would demand a charm for every weapon type.

I post this because I feel a disparity of choices in charms until 100k and up. Personally I don't place any value within the 36k tier selection, I would rather save my money for a Barrier or Juggernaut. Not to suggest Tarhyl, Sihala, etc. aren't worthwhile, I just wouldn't spend money on them unless I were a hybrid/pure caster. Nemesis and Trueshot charms are extremely appealing, but I wouldn't like buying a Nemisis charm for stats/effect/crit and never use the skill mod. Maybe that's having one's cake and eating it too? :psyduck:

Opinions, suggestions, thoughts?

Offense and Defense are extremely powerful and shouldn't really be on ANY items.

That's why I only use them as an example, honestly I don't know what kind of skill mods should be placed there to be fair and balanced, yet appeal to multiple classes. It's a generalization to generate ideas.

It's kind of like showing up to court unprepared, sorry Judge, don't hold me in contempt. :toot:

Code:
Charm of Assault
AC: 15
Effect: Truesight (Worn)
STR: +15 DEX: +20 AGI +20 HP: +115
Critical Strike: +3% Aggression -2%
Recommended level of 55

Charm of Fortification
AC: 30
Skill Mod: Parry +5
Effect: Truesight (Worn)
STA: +20 AGI: +20 HP: +125
Damage Reduction: +2 Critical Strike +1%
Recommended level of 55

I didn't read either. :dumb:

You'd probably need one for each archetype, really, and casters won't benefit from a skill mod. They'd need something like runes of fire/water, and tbh that seems too powerful on a 66k charm (unless it had no FT, then it'd maybe not really be an upgrade from the 36k charm).

Casters benefit a great deal more than melee on the 36k charms as it is.

I don't really see a reason to not have 66K charms for each archetype, since 36k-100k can be a pretty big gap for most people.

Code:
Charm of Mental Focus
Skill Mod: Channeling +10
Effect: Flowing Thought II (Worn)
INT+25 CHA+25 HP+ 80 MANA +135
FR +10 MR+5 CR+10
Spell Ward +5% Aggression -2%
Recommended level of 55

Charm of Prayer
Skill Mod: Alteration +10
Focus Effect: Healing Increment V
WIS+20 CHA+10 STA+5 HP+ 80 MANA +125
Spell Ward +5%
Recommended level of 55

I dig your ideas Jose, and Archetype charms are the way to go.

Rabb is also correct, skill mods don't directly affect casters as much as melee. I think focus effects like spell/heal crits could be appropriate if you balance the rest of the charm accordingly.

Or just lower Barrier/Energy to 66k since no one buys them because they aren't worth the investment at all.

it really is kinda unbalanced with the two 66k charms in game now that caters to so few. Melees are the characters most affected by the 66k charms / difference. the above suggestions sounds good!
As for caster charms at same lvl, the 36k charms are better than for melees so this isnt just as necessary although ofcourse something new would be nice.

I honestly dont think i have ever seen anyone with a 100k charm. Perhaps dropping them to 66/70 would make them worth it. I really like this idea alot.

I am gonna ask just the opposite and ask for range/rogue charms in the 36k and 100k range. maybe even 250k, 500k, and 1.2mil rogue/ranger charms too

From what i've heard, the only reason the 66k charms were added is because the low level backstab/archery charms were the best possible charms for ranger/rogue at any level.

If they are the best at any level, why are they priced so much lower than the best for other classes? (Unless Im just misunderstanding what youre saying.)

Also, regardless of the possibility of more 66k charms being added, could the usefulness of 36k charms to straight melee be reevaluated-- especially for Mnk/Rog, who benefit far less than Warriors from regen (in-combat at least). Maybe an AC/HP boost with a mana reduction on Tarhyl would be in order, since Im sure nobody with mana would ever choose Tarhyl over one of the FT charms. ( Jose doesn't count :psyduck: ! ) Otherwise, casters/hybrids benefit from the AC/FT3/HP/Mana/Resist, while pure melee only benefit from AC/Regen/HP/Resist. Also the FT on caster charms, although proportional to the regen gained in regards to the caps from items on each, is definately more desirable.

I got the Tarhyl charm because I was offered a ridiculously good deal on it. But that's besides the point of this thread!

If any charms were to get rebalanced based on usefulness compared to price, I would say it should be Barrier/Energy. When was the last time you saw someone with one of these charms? The last person I saw with a barrier was Coltaine before the Juggo charm was even in the game. They simply aren't worth the investment.

I can agree with not seeing any around ever, last I saw was Aleria's. Still would be nice to have balanced 36kers too.

3(4, I think alazif had one) Barrier charms out of gobs and gobs of other charms, not a good track record.
