Necromancer AA Leechstorm

Zorlaft's Those last 2 are extremely way overpowered, and having a raid wide FD that blocks AE's could be used to get around large one time ae's on a lot of mobs

Make it so you couldnt stand for 3 minutes after the FD (so stun for 3 min also in there...) Long enough to reset agro, but still saves time in a corpse run..

Manluas's Yeah, especially the DoT crit thingy. Necros are already major DPS, if I could crit 2 minutes with cunning on me I'd ashame almost every other non Necro DPSer. 1k+ DPS is nothing you should underestimate.

Ok, make it instead of 2 min, to be next 1 or 2 ticks of garenteed crits. As I said, very adjustable. Just throwing out ideas.

Raids live .2 seconds longer - group/raid lifetap proc buff

AE ressurection ala the old Wake Dead - make some pets that are weaker than wake dead pets with a shorter duration, but use the same models as nearby corpses. It might be pretty useless but waking a monster at the right time was the highpoint of the necroprankster day.

Caster pet - next pet cast will be a caster class. idk, maybe someone can expand on this /shrug

Psychic Gnome Corpses - Summon some little skeletons to find nearby players and give them like 100 mana (points not percent) then poof. They would have to laugh before they poofed though.

Oh my god that's a giant skeleton - Summon 1 giant skeleton to do one round equivalent to the damage of Leechstorm.

Sedulous Subversion - Bring back the mana battery

it repops often but I might never use it - 50/50 chance of either restoring 750mana to the necro, or bringing him to 1hp.
 
It seems like the problem that most people have with this is it would break mez, so why not change it from an AA AE that does damage (Thus breaking mez) to an AA AE that debuffs the mob and sends the stats to your group/raid (Much like Mind Wrack, Succussion of Shadows, Degeneration, etc that do not break mez) A group wide AE Mana Tap AA would be a nice trade off for a single AE hp tap AA, or even something to lower the STR/DEX/AGI/What ever of a bunch of mobs that have swampped you, sure it would probably be situational, but most things are.

Realisticly speaking that'd probably be the best idea for a replacement but;

Either of those just sounds too off the wall to not grin at having the option to pull.
 
I've got some new ones (round 3)

Area Death - same thing as ae mez, lasts 10 seconds and makes the mobs fall down for the duration

I like reds, blues make me sad - turn a sapphire into a ruby

I hate my stamina bar - drain necro's endurance to 0, boost groups endurance by something marginal

Somtimes I feel like i'm a giant - AE shrink undead (our shaman must hate me, i recast arch lich a lot)

....

tbh, my growing necro sense tells me this AA is fine the way it is (which means it's not useless dick), but it's more... situational than recession so it costs fewer aa's.

It's fine the way it is, but the way it is is useless. It's simply not worth the 5 aa's it costs to buy.
 
Another idea that just came to my mind:


Change this AA so it is some kind of pet LT for ~1k to maybe ~1.5k at a max. Would be a nice thing to have in certain situations, yet it'd be far away from being too overpowered together with Mend Companion IMO.

im not sure if this spell can be changed to single target or whatnot... nor am i uptodate on necromancers.. but what about making it a necro rez but with no reagent cost? not really a big deal for most high ends who can keep a few rubies on em at all time and have reagent items... but for those who are poor or just dont want to carry rubies, would be helpful.
possibley change it to a pet buff for defense... necro pets really are not hot tanks....
ae mana drain maybe?
maybe a single or ae spell to give mana to others? i do recal the spells were taken out as necros just sat and fed mana. but a 1 hour recast... would benefit a lot in raids or tight situation in groups. as far as numbers go i dont know what would be balanced.

I can't comment on the 63 pet after the pet revamp but at least the relic pet is pretty serious tankage and aggro.

i was testing out a friends necro and he has the 63 pet.. i took him over to paw.. where his pet could kill a few war lions or arch paws before i had to use my aa pet heal before he died.... it was pathetic imo=/ then again im not a skilled necro.. i was just messing around for fun one night so maybe i was not using the proper spells to keep him alive... but i did use the pet heal that takes ur hp away... yea i didnt bother memorizing spell names.
and more defense on relic wouldnt hurt...

my relic pet, with full minion skills, comp health 5 and comp strength 6 and relic druid buffs can kill about 3 lesser cave wyrms in GD by himself at a time. He can handle 5 of them easy when i use the relic pet heal DoT, but trying to get your pet to have aggro on 5 mobs at a time is 20 times harder than keeping him alive.

not everyone has relic pets. and aas arent based around everyone having them. not to mention it was just a suggestion.

i think my intention was to confirm the fact that the relic pet is pretty serious tankage, and the pet aa's don't really care what pet you have, they increase its abilities the same no matter what pet you use.
 
My necro isn't even past 20, but I'm pretty sure I would powerlevel him to 65 and grind aas as fast as I could if I could summon a skeleton the size of a giant.
