Hey mates. I don't wanna sit here and write a story and waste everyones time, so I'll get straight to the point...

I just wanna throw out a huge thanks to everyone responsible for SoD, including the donators. I'm an old time EQ fan; played for nearly 5 years. I went to EQII and hated it then tried out WoW and had some fun but that wore off after about 6 months of playing. I was at a complete loss, but SoD has made playing mmropgs fun again. I actually look foward to playing a game again, and that hasn't really happened since I quit EQ. I just hope that SoD has a few years left in her, and that I'm not to late finding out about this game.

Again, thanks to those responsible for making SoD a reality for a true fan like myself. Look foward to seeing you all in game soon! Stay safe mates.

Iv got pretty much the same story... stubbornly played EQ for a while after WoW and EQII came out, but the playerbase died down, and the inflated economy didnt... after pushing a wheelbarrow full of platinum through town one day, in search of a "Flask of Water" which I could get if i bargained for... I decided to play EQII... to say the least it sucked. All my friends and relatives were on WoW so I tried that out, and the same for me, it only lasted about 4 months, just didn't have the lifespan EQ did for me, so I stopped MMORPGs altogether. Finally found SoD through some forums and it's great. Keep up the good work guys.

No need for me to make a new post so I'll add my feedback with yours Madox!

A big grats! I have been playing for a few days only and already am feeling that good old addiction coming back. Something I had lost long ago when most MMO I played changed too much in a negative way (imho). SoD community is awesome! Many people helped me with trinkets, advices, some money for spells etc... or just casual chatting =)

There are a few bugs in the game, but up to now, nothing serious happened, just funny. Exemple:
- I am a magician with a water pet. Zoning in Blackburrow with my first group ever in this game, I find my pet turned into a skeleton (our necromancer was jealous lol) but reacting like an EQ enchanter pet, you know the one you can't control but defends you when you get hit?
- Another time I almost died of someone's train and found myself on the floor eating dirt but our group healer did his job and kept me alive! So here I was in Feign Death (like a necro). Took a while to realize had to sit to get up! Real funny (and our group necro was grumbling about not having his feign death spell yet lol).

Only Cons I found in my 3 days of playing, is that the lowbie zone of Stinger's Bog (where iksars and trolls begins) is way too hard for a level 1-5 near Grobb entrance. The concentration of mobs there is insane and it is hard to find a safe spot to pull without being aggroed by 3 more. Strangely, a bit farther away from the city, there is less mobs so hunting is easier. Maybe a bit less mobs near the wardens would be nice, way too hard for those poor iksars and trolls, and don't tell me to go to Greenmist or Newport! a starting zone should be that =)

Thank you everyone that are making this game possible, keep the good work and like Madox said: I hope SoD will be here for a while <3

I would like to get in on this as well. I played eq when it first came out and had a blast pre kunark. I stayed with it until pop when raiding became an all evening 60 person deal. The game was just unwieldy. Wow is not wow for me and no other game of this type was doing it for me. When I came here I knew I had found a home. Responsive and creative management and less tedium. I joined a great guild who can do things with less than 60 peeps. The other people on the server are friendly and helpful and for the first time there is a sense of a live, evolving world. I am just having a blast. I pay a small amount of money to play here and it is well worth it!

I'll chime in here as well. Since EQ went to the dogs, I tried EQ2, WoW and even EQ again - several times each, in fact - trying to find a MMORPG that held my interest. I happened upon Winters Roar just before it shut down and never really had the chance to check it out. I was excited to find SoD just the other day, and am having a great time.

This is the closest any game has come yet to reproducing that original EQ feeling I recall so fondly. I really do feel like a newbie again, and it's great.

I truly wish to thank the dev/design staff and applaud them for their accomplishments. They really have done a great job in making this game their own. I plan to be a contributor via regular donations and would strongly urge everyone else who gets great enjoyment from the game to do the same. It's well worth it!

Well not that my opinion matters much (just logged in for first time last night), but i think this server is gonna be cool as hell. I am level 2 and loving the feeling of "earning it" again. Too many people in EQ were level 50+ at the end of one day of PLing. I gave that game 5 years and finally quit...disgusted with what it had become. SoD has renenwed my passion for MMORPGs. I see myself playing here for many years to come. Nothing beats that feeling of being all alone, having to kill newbie mobs to earn enough for my entry level spells, so that i can kill enough newbie mobs to tradeskill my first set of armor. Reminds me of the pre-Kunark days. LOVE IT GUYS! Thanks so much for bringing us a game designed in the way they were meant to be played.

Luv the Wiz and Staff! Luv the No PLing bits in game. Luv it all !!! I remember when, on Xev, we had a 65 cleric froglok with 50 AA's 48 hours after frogloks were released. Keyed for tons of places too. Just makes ya sick. The balance of rules and classes here mixed with the fact that the staff LISTENS to the players is amazing!

After playing EQ for some 3 years, and getting thoroughly bored rigid with all the cliques, guild hissy fits, Uber-up-my-own-ar5e-players and tipping a shite load of gelt to Sony for an effed up game, I come across SoD.

Bugger me sideways and call me Mandy at the weekends, here's a game with a degree of familiarity, yet distinct difference.

Throughly enjoying it. My thanks and appreciation to all those involved.

To do this off your own backs 10/10.

Great fun, and so far great people.

Cheers. :D
