More high cash hot spots for higher levels

I'm reluctant to make this post as it might attract even more people to an entirely overpopulated area.

There are 2 spots in the entire game to "farm" cash: Ice giants in Everfrost and Hill Giants in obsidian shard. I decided I should post this thread as a level 41 shaman holds the spawn, I'm trying to get in, and a 65 necro and 59 druid are all vying for the same spot.

At least the shaman and I get experience still, the high levels are farming for cash only, leaving me and the shaman exp and cash less.

As I talked to the necro, we both pretty much agreed that there is a huge problem here with no good way to get cash outside of these two spots in the entire game. Perhaps a few solutions would be high level areas to drop a good amount of PP, like a 65 raid zone to have all mobs drop 100pp or something all the time.

Because if growth continues as it is right now, we'll have to install a ticket counter for 2 spawns.

DHK also requires a well geard tank (monk, ar, sk etc) and a well gearehealer to be able to kill with any efficiency. and even a tank in good gear with no aa's would barely be able to tank stuff there. I do agree however that it is great for cash with a good group. I've pulled about 2k in no time while grinding xp there.

Here's a shocking thought: Maybe easy cash solo hotspots shouldn't be common, lest the server get ridiculously inflated?

EDIT: Oh, yeah, places like DHK and some dungeons drop insane cash in certain places, but people are lazy fuckers.

Lame logic, both you and the higher level character are going there for cash, not xp.

I do agree with Wiz about bringing more cash to the game will make it over inflated, but I also agree with zombu that there is a lack of cash flow going on. Maybe a good way to fix this is bringing a new "cultural armor" to the game and add blacksmithing where people will train doing normal basic armor, and can also do better armor for what race they are and armors with different required lvls so people wont get too twinked. also tailoring should get upgraded, so far high end tailoring is wyrmhide and that's leather, havent seen anything for the Int casters that can compare. and pottery doing ranged slot items with effects. Now everyone will just not be hunting for cash, but they will be hunting for componetns for tradeskills and selling them to higher lvl players and so on.

If i am XPing I do ToV just for Plat farming. Farming cash does happen and it mainly happens for the charms.

Kjia is right, DHK wins over anything else. We regularly get 3-4k per hour, so that is the level 65 raid zones with great loot you are talking about. And if you're not in a great group, any group that can even do DHK at all is going to be making pretty good plat, relative to most other zones.

I also agree with Elysium, in regards to Hill Giants, there are other (much better) sources of exp. So why kill them? Because you get pp while you're at it. Getting exp for a kill doesnt give you any right over anyone else, its just an added little perk.

Rats in Dragon Necropolis drop good cash too, they are hard to kill even for low 50s, but mid to high 50s and 60s should do them easy. Now About DHK, well you really can't say that people dont go hunt there because they are lazy, i dont hunt there because I want to be allied to dragons, and do their quests. Faction is also another reason why people dont go there. But i do agree there is many other places for cash than hunting giants, i feel that Giants are not good cash at all really with only so few of them and slow timer gah is sooo boring... Also suggest checking out dreadfang tower first floor, good gems drop now and then...

If you only know of those two places, you're missing out. You should probably have made this thread in SoD discussion and been asking other players where good places to farm cash are, rather than posting it here and asking for the game to be changed.

Step 1: You see a problem
Step 2: You ask a more experienced character of your class about resolution of the problem
Step 3: If nobody knows, try to fix it yourself

Only if you do those three things and you're absolutely sure there's still a problem should you make a thread here. Be aware that people don't like to share their solo cash farm spots because then they become more crowded.

If i can do dhk w/ oifer tanking and taws healing then anyone can do it.

:censored: and you dont like to share :censored:

Wow... you're joking, right? Only places to farm cash? The least you could do is say "that I know about" rather than sounding arrogant and ignorant.

Of course there are no other good cash mobs out there. Certainly the cyclopses in Gorge don't drop any money. And the island giants in Sea of Swords have crap for loot. Yaralith sewers suck, too--those fire emeralds really suck for cash loot, ya know? The black sapphires and Jacinths in velk's are total ass, too, just like the 1-2 named mobs per clear of the front area. Oh, yeah, and minotaurs in Lasanth suxx0r like you wouldn't believe. Hell, I'd even go so far as to guess there are other zones and mobs out there that suck just as much as all of these, that I'm not even aware of. God, so much suckage hurts the brain!

Yeah, there are definitely no cash farms at all out there. Nope. None. Zippo.

(p.s. every single one of those shitty spots I named is easily duo'able anywhere from the 40s to 60--and a 65 necro could solo every single one of them, a 59 druid most)

Seriously, instead of bitching, try exploring. I discovered most, if not all, of those locations either by chance while exploring by myself or by going with a group to a new zone for xp.

Hell, if you don't use Gems and your'e in late 30's or early 40's or so yo ucoudl try soloing the front part of Paw lair. Decent bit of cash t obe had there through loot, oh and the whole lioderth head thing...but those generally don't drop that often(there are times i've seen them drop off every single one for a half hour though...pity at the time i'd agreed to let somebody else have 'em....).

Its a wonder people on this server have charms more expensive than 6k ;(

just a though

I like the ability to get these spots even though they are crowded...They do have long downtimes at all of them, especially if you are grouped at one of these spots.

I think an idea albeit a basic one to keep money flowing ( out of players pockets ) in the game without a huge buildup, is to have the vendors resell things that are sold to them....Its a great plat sink to be able to purchase stuff like batwings, bones, gems, and low-mid ranged ok items..( i know this wont take large portions of cash out of the game ) but it would certainly help some of it get flowing...

Just a thought....

Zombu, you really need to try raiding before you tell us what stuff should drop from our raid zones. I like to give people the benifit of the doubt, but I've read a ton of posts you've made suggesting stuff that is already there.

Ive actually wondered this myself. Was this not put in to avoid item charge dupe bugs and the like? Resell value might have also been a problem. Because I frequently browsed NPC merchants for nifty things that people decided to sell.

The biggest problem with vendors keeping the junk they are sold, I would think, is database bloat, which can get insane, and slow down the server by orders of magnitude.

Im not speaking from any professional standpoint, but all it really could be is a text listing of items. It would be less then adding 1 character for 1 merchant.

I doubt they would want to invest time into managing resell prices though, so my suggestion is just make it a percentage of the sell price. 1.5x or 2x

Make the max items on a merchant like 15 or something and *dont* save the rest like Live did (where if you bought 1 of the older items another sold item would take its spot)
