Monster summoning and why it should be random

Random scoring of mob instead of set pet model of rat/goblin others
easily done
:( mages want giants fighting for them, not goblins or rats in the badlands

I'm sure I'm not the only mage that misses the fun of having a random non-swarm type pet so an alternative to randomizing swarm pets is this. Be able to have an option of zone-randomized model pets instead of an elemental

cmon mages! gogogo

I loved the variety of pets on live. You would keep recasting until you got one with the special abilities you wanted, making the spell far more powerful in some zones than others. I would like varied models, but I think Wiz found a nice balance in the spell as is.

Having five or six mobs at each tier of monster summoning would be neat. The only problem I could see is that a lot of model aren't included in all the zones, and it would be just as lame to see a naked human model running in to attack as the rat/goblin/orc/giant

I like it, I mean all random models from the zone would do is add a little variety to it, and I don't think it's necessary whatsoever. Also, it would annoy the piss out of your group/raid, much in a way that the chanter illusion aa does. Oh we're fighting these flamecallers, oh shit another one. Generally I think this would end up with this being verboten on certain raidfights, which would make me, and most other mages sad.

As for the multiples, no. First of all, they would undoubtedly be split in power from the one, cause more spam, more lag in raidzones (gfx lag), die faster to ae's, etc. Sounds good, isn't.

As for varying powers, personally I prefer it as is.

I'd have to say no aswell. I value the added crowd control capability far more than just being able to have variety in my primary pet. If anything were to be made random, I'd hope the spell function remained the same and that the temporary pet would be what cycled.
