Monk skills and tailoring question

Hello,

Just want to say great game thanks for all the work.

I just have a couple of questions reguarding monk skill-ups, I know this isn't eq but you might want to look at making it easier to get skill ups on block. First of all I am currently leveling my monk and his block skill is lagging behind, current skill is 27, while tiger claw is capped for my level I know this doesn't seem like much but since I should get a chance at a skill up on block every time a mob swings at me vs the 6 seconds between uses of a combat skill it seems that block is moving kinda slow.

Second the critical failure rate on mend i.e. hurting yourself seems kinda high leveled 2 monks in eq one to 60, one to 65 on different servers and I think I've had more crit failures getting my current mend to 31 than I had leveling both those monks combined lol.

Third I cannot find a book for tailoring anywhere that I can check am kos in some places, Iksar heh. I have seen books for all the other skills on vendors not tailoring though just wanted to let you know in case it's not suppoesed to be that way.

Anyhow that's it, mods feel free to move this if it's in the wrong place.

Shaa Iksar monk
Naked and loving it lol

Mend always seemed to fail a LOT until you get it to 100. Then it rarely fails if at all.

I don't remember having trouble with my block skill. not thatI dont' believe you, but I don't think it's a universal problem.

As to mend, Yes it does fail abit until about 70. Then it's pretty reliable. at 100, it never fails.

if I may quote a post on racial traits...

- Iksar

Infravision: Iksars can see in the dark through heat sight.

Regeneration: Iksars have a natural healing ability far surpassing that of most races. They regain health at an increased pace.

Reptilian Mind: Iksars have minds and bodies that require and tend toward large amounts of sleep and long dormant periods. For this reason, Iksars are more vulnerable to Mesmerizing spells, having a decreased chance to resist them.

Cold Blood: Iksars are not emotional creatures, and are slow to both fear and anger. They gain an additional chance to resist Fearing spells.

Dull-Minded: Iksars are not quick to accept new ideas or adapt to new situations. They gain a penalty to acquiring experience and learning skills.

Notice the very last trait.. "Dull-Minded".. this means your skills will raise slowly, and having played an iksar, the change is significant.. though if you enjoy playing an iksar, you shouldn't mind raising your skills even if at a slower pace.
