Monk avoidance penalty?

I was struggling with keeping myself under the weight cap for the longest time, and I think I'm probably the only high end monk who doesn't struggle with weight issues, I'm currently at 15 stones. It is extremely difficult for a monk breaking in to the raid game and maintain under a 20 stone cap.

Yeah, it's supposed to be. It's supposed to be a huge hassle as a tradeoff for the powerful avoidance bonus.

I studied the high end loot for quite a while when I just started raiding planning out what upgrades I needed and what order I needed to get them in to stay under the cap, it was actually pretty fun for me because it was such a challenge.

Precisely the intent!

Tomorrow's patch will add a message that tells you when you're overweight and losing your penalty, anyway, which should make it less of a learning curve thing for low level monks.

Umm, I plan things out too. One time I planned to go on a raid and loot an item that was 0.2 weight. This other time I realised it was best to loot one that was 2.5 weight. I mean the stats outweighed the weight! LOL.

Thanks Wiz, this will help a lot of monks, for sure.

I wasn't making fun of you Onos, even though my noob tactics of running in circles while hitting you did put a pretty good hurt on you.

And thank you for adding a message Wiz, that'll help especially when people in groups are splitting the looted coin... unless you're paying attention (which I dont) you can quickly go over the limit and not notice - now it's Korinth proof.

Man, anyone who split coin when I was in their group got a boot up their ass. Damn noobs.

My finger hurts.

That's not even funny. Don't try so hard next time.

At any rate, this change will help.

So let's say you lose the 40 % avoidance bonus, what is that comparable too? Would you throw out any figures? Like is that comparable to losing 100 AC? Etc?

If sombody parsed it, then it could be compared. First with weight under the requirement, then after over the requirment in incriments to show the scale. Without that, then no. Completley avoiding a hit > taking less damage from a hit any time.

Also,

Rambler, are you Goat from Enclave/Brell?

No, both he and I stole names from people in Silent Redemption when making our alts. We both played Garison on Brell, though. He quit shortly into Kunark and I quit shortly into Luclin.
