Minor Rant

Okay, what is with all these people who are complaining and saying this or that should be able to be done solo/duoed or with only one group? Epics for example... a raid force to get a character one "silly" item. You know what? That one "silly" item is damned nice usually. Personally I find the epic to be a wonderful status symbol, it says nice and loud "This person has the backing of their guild, and were able to get their help in the search for their epic". If anything I feel that the admin/staff/everyone should take things further along the you need a group to do most things route, maybe that will help solve the problem I have with only rarely being able to get a group. I understand that some people simply prefer to solo but I'll be damned if I don't find that downright antisocial.

I'd be quite suprised if a solo'er can lvl faster than a full group on this server.

<3 the exp system in place.

True, but it's not all about levelling really, I personally HATE to solo, hate it with a passion, but when I can't find a group which is almost always I'm forced to if I want to be playing, I don't have the cash flow to just concentrate on tradeskills yet, except for fishing maybe and well... enchanters just aren't an easy class to solo, especially with charm being so unreliable.

The tradeskills aren't profitable inless you really put alot of time and money into it.. Then you have to market your goods and hope someone buys them..

Much better to stay productive leveling and keep all the loot.

Luckily my brother plays too so we always group. Good rogue/war combo.

Yeah, my brother plays a warrior, around the same level as I am but he's a complete newb when it comes to what his role in a fight is and how to handle it. I've taken him along as MT on the few adept raids I've led and still haven't managed to train him properly. Oh, other thing is that he has a life and I don't so he's not always around to group with... x.x heh. Slaughtered the bloodblade camp in NBad with him earlier though, that was good xp.

I am all for solo/duo content. But I will also add that I am in no way asking that any gear attainable this way be in any way equal to raid level gear (or even group level gear).

I just would like to be able to decently equip my toons without having to pay someone else to farm equipment for me (ie buying at a vendor).

I am just looking to be able to be self-sufficient when at all possible. I would be fine if tradeskills were made so that high-end crafted gear is close to mid-high end droppable gear.

Soloing is fun, but when you shout " 30 druid LFG" and get 0 replies in two hours, there is a problem.

I solo and I am hardly antisocial. I interact with everyone that speaks with me or I come across. And being a roleplayer, it is unforunate that I don't see more roleplaying as I did prior to the server population boom. I had some very good roleplaying moments then.

But I digress, I particularly don't group mainly from all the bad experiences I had with groups on Live. That left a strong bad taste imprinted on me. And personally I don't want to have to deal with someone who has no clue as to what they are doing. Now don't get me wrong, I had been in a few groups that all went well and everyone worked wonderfully as a team and we were a force to be reckoned with. But unfortunately it was the bad people that really ruined it for me.

I try to solo but always get sucked into groups becaues I'm JUST THAT COOL.

Your best bet is to get a group together that you can regularly group with--a little circle of friends in roughly the same time zone that level at about the same rate. As you level, you're gonna see familiar faces--just add them to /friends and send them a friendly what's up when you log on.

If there are no groups to be had, make one; even if it's just duoing with one other person of an innapropriate class for bad xp, it can blossom into a full group.

I don't know if there is much to rant about here. I'm pretty sure that Wiz will continue to have raid style encounters in his epic quests because of the flavour that is shared between raids and epics. They both seem to require lots of people to accomplish. I don't think 'epics' would be epics if it was a solo task.

Last night there was a 42 enchanter lfg for nearly 3 hours. Zaira or something close to that. I realize they could have started a group but still, an enchanter lfg that long /boggle.

Sugestion : /ooc I am starting a group in <zone>, still have spots open, give me a tell if you are between level <low> - <high>.
That will get you a full group in no time.
Doing : /ooc Level <nr> <class> LFG.
Might leave you soloing for all the day.
Leading a group isn't hard, start a group instead of trying to join one and you will have people joining in no time.
Most sad part I've seen is like a year ago, 6 different classes, war,clr and dps was all looking for group in ooc, all shouted about wanted to join, noone shouted about starting one so they never had the group.

What really gets me is I'll be watching OOC and see:

Nudge says out of character, "25th Lvl Warrior LFG!"
Purge says out of character, "Anyone need a 23rd level mage?"
Anto says out of character, "2 26th level paladin, and wizard looking for more to group."

And I think to myself, "Hmmmm. There you go, four right there that can group together." Only to see in a few minutes later...

Nudge says out of character, "25th Lvl Warrior LFG!"
Purge says out of character, "So does anyone need a 23rd level mage?"
Anto says out of character, "2 26th level paladin, and wizard still looking for more to group. Who wants to?"

I never could understand this? Are they not reading the OOC chat? *shrug*

A lot of people in Online games think they have a right to be able to advance to the end, be uber, be l33t, without ever having to work for it or having to team up with others..

It's a syndrom I tell you.

:p
