[MINI FIX: 1017/Server Login Reset/Patcher Not Uptodate]

Hey guys!

I was struggling to find any kind of fix for this problem, as they all seem to be one in the same.

Either you can't login to the game server, or it resets you...
Comes up with 1017 or just crashes...

The fix I've found is to update every addon that sony has... then do a full file scan.
After that, have the SoD Patcher 'repatch all'.

Then you should have no problems playing.

When it does happen again, redo those two steps (Sony total file scan, SoD Patcher repatch all) and it'll clear up and you can play again...

This means to me that it is a client side error. Hopefully this coming patch should fix things, if not, I'm sure they'll get to it soon enough :)

God bless guys!

Can anyone verify this? I would, but for me to do a full file check on live and then on SoD would probably take me over a day to do with my terrible connection. I don't really think that this is a client side issue, but if it is than I guess I wouldnt mind waiting to download all the files. So has this worked for anyone else? Just wondering, thanks.

I've had it work repeatedly, that's why I posted it.

Mainly those errors happen when a client side file become corrupt...

I'm guessing they're with e1emu 5.3 because of reliability.

The error usually is because the client is running a different code than the server for communicating.
Think of it like someone passing you a page in french when you can only read english.

Now I havent tracked it down to a particular file... but it seems that the SoD patcher might be buggy. After fulling from sony, then the SodPatcher will redownload all it needs. Then it works.

Theoretically, the SoD Patcher should download all the files it needs, and fix it's own problem.... but it is possible the file problem isn't from that at all, that it's a different client side file crash.

This isn't a real fix, but it will get you up and playing again untill they come up with the real one :)

Good luck,
and God bless!

The reason that I dont think this is a client side error is simply because my client works when I have different connections. When I brought my desktop home for the christmas break from school I was able to play fine on my high speed connection, however, I could only connect during off peak hours at my school. The same with my laptop. I am still able to connect at off-peak hours but not when my connection is really really slow. This is why I dont think that this is a client issue, because my client works some of the time. I may be completely wrong though, I will give this a shot soon when I have the time. Thanks for your help.
