memblur efficacy

Considering 'mem blur' doesn't work on SOD like it did on live, we are one of the few classes, surprisingly, without some way of dropping any aggro ie FD/Concuss/etc.

I don't remember the last time I discussed memblur with anyone, maybe it was Stral and then we were trying to find out Dev-info about exactly how it works here, as in if it just dumps Enchanter aggro, or if it drops everyones aggro or what exactly. Either way I don't think we ever really figured it out so I haven't used it or tried it in forever.

Can a dev shine some light on how mem blur works exactly? Enchanters get a few of these, including the final 55 level Memory Flux, but there seems to be some confusion about how they operate and fit into an enchanters overall utility.

I think at the very least, to improve these spells and get enchanters in on the ability of other casters (sorry magicians) to suddenly and efficiently wipe hate and save their lives, the mana cost, cast time, and resist adjust on Memory Flux all needs a review. Or a 60s edition that does the job the absolute best and encourages enchanters to have it on the bar most of the time.

imo, enchanters should be able to wipe hate like shadowknights can get it: easily. A way that's mana cheap, sudden, virtually irresistable, and on a reasonably short recast, much like the enchanter memblur of Live. I would be willing to part with Vex for such a spell.

Memory blur appears to reduce all aggro to 1 but not less than one. I agree that it makes the spell line virtully worthless, but I'm not convinced it's a bug / was unintentional. It seems far more like an intentional nerf.

- Memory blur will now work more often on mobs less than level 60. Mobs above level 60 can now be memblurred, at a reduced chance of it working.

Looking at it how it is right now though, it may not be working on mobs above 59 at all, I'll have to do some additional testing.

Memory Blur - 50% chance
Mind Wipe - 60% chance
Blanket of Forgetfulness - 75% chance
Memory Flux - 90% chance

And yeah they don't seem to do anything on 60+ targets.

I changed this for next patch. Mobs level 60-64 have a reduced chance of the spell working but will actually land properly now. Mobs 65+ will not be affected by memblur spells.

Also, in regards to the message you get when it lands. It will now only give you a message if the spell lands and successfully wipes their hate list. If it doesn't succeed, you won't receive any success message. Hopefully this will make memblurs less confusing to use, since you always saw the "Soandso blinks a few times" message even on mobs that were too high level.

thanks for the oversight on this. But just to clarify so everybody who reads this is on the same page, does the spell landing reduce hate to ONE or completely wipe it?

I'm glad this got worked out so fast, thanks again.

exp'd the other day in hhk and this spell is crazy useful after changes. No idea what goes into a successful landing, but i think in around 40 casts over an hour and a half or so, I probably landed a good 90% of them. I do feel like mana cost could use a tweak because the cast time seems really long but thank you for giving this spell a makeover and giving me a reason not to leave home without it.
