Melee equipment

AAs really do make a big difference for a paladins, especially if you plan on off-tanking. from a brief glance youre missing:

ALL the healing and healing crit aas - these are a must as they contribute to your self heals and group hot,

hand of piety - group heal for like 1500 or something base + 20% HI from aas and other items makes it a very nice aa to have in raids AND in groups,

Strike of the void - at rank 3 50% melee dmg turned into a direct mana drain sure is nice,

Protection of the lady - although situational, can be very nice for situations when you need all those extra inches to take down a target.

if you want more info on pally AAs toss me a tell in game some time.

also looking at your gear it looks like you have quite a bit of cash lying around that you could spend on stuff, since were looking at this "doomsday" theory that you cant progress at all, try tagging along with some high-end xp groups and say youll take only rots or something and if theyre reluctant offer like a cash prize to loot or something (dunno if this is illegal or not, but just throwing it out there). we clear catacomb nameds just for the hell of it sometimes cause its fun.

also im guessing you have about 1500-1600 ac in game or something, am i right? thats not too bad, im sure you can mess around in places like cata, hhk, fr, cmal, smalath and get upgrades, if not main tanking, at least being a support tank

Happy New Year!

I think you re missing the point, Ele. It's not about AAs, tank's gear or whatever, its about recruiting in your guild, the people who have the same goal than you, understand raiding. The problem does not come from the game progression, its about guild recruitment and how you advertise and recruit yor members.

Now I perfectly know , that the server population being low, its hard to find motivated people, but to begin to raid zones like First Ruins or Everchill, you dont need 18 people, you need motivated people , who knows how to play their classes and who have the will to work togeither toward a common goal.

thats what raiding is for, testing your ability to work as a group, loot is just the reward of this. So to make this short, if your ability to work togeither as a raid force or as a group sucks, you're stopped in your progression and you cant get better gear.

Glaucom.

If every guild on the server is using a recycled plate toon there should be tons of plate loots rotting and just waiting for you to scoop them up. Perfectly tuned raids aren't required for 98% of fights (even in progression content), even if a guild already has a main warrior they still might take you along if you:
1.) don't suck
2.) ask nicely

Thought this thread had died but just to say Im not sitting in a corner feeling sorry for myself and I am doing all of this. Gone one step further and trying to organise joint raids with another Guild that has similar problems, a core of 6-8 people who do want to raid and another group who want a social guild.

I think best hope is Cmal 3 but so far visits have gotten me keys to 3.1 and 3.2 but no plate improvements.

I even advertised in Guild recruitment for similar people who were willing to join for a regular group to Cmal and got one reply from someone who had nowhere near the necessary level to go into 3.2.

I think Im just going through a bad patch and Im hoping that VD maps will offer a couple of upgrades once I have the necessary resists to withstand the 5k nukes.

In the meantime I'm acumulating AAs and have restarted questing and hope to get to at least junior researcher in CoI and 2 or 3 promotions on Althuna aug in next 2-3 weeks. I am also going into a fishing frenzy to get the 38k charm.

All I would say is that Ill join any raid where there is a prospect of rots and I must have joined a dozen or more pick-up raids so far with little success.
