MelC - why is it always empty

This is such a cool zone, and can hold a few on tier xp groups. No one is ever here unless they are farming quest items or trying for the werewolf clicky!

My thoughts on this is because the zone is such a pain in the ass to get to and you basically can't use auto-follow to run a box or other group members there.

My suggestion to help repopulate this zone with PCs is to make a port down from either Mela zone in area, or somewhere in the swamp.

Just a thought to try to repopulate a really cool zone.

Just another victim of overpowered drops (and quest rewards and xp) from Ikilid and OG.
There seems to be a certain dislike among the devs for adjusting loot tables in the old world.
Understandable cause its a lot of work, then on the other hand changing body types for thousands of mobs does not seem to be a great deal.
Maybe there is a tecnical reason for this,I dunno.

This is an excellent idea.

Depending on how convenient the devs want to make the port in, here are some suggestions ranging from mildly helpful to 'why the fuck not':

1. Miel A: the hidden room along the eastern route. It is on the north end of a room with big pillars in it. Some quest/item mob spawns there, but that don't matter.

2. Da' Swamp: submerged hut! I honestly cannot recall ever going to it on SoD but it must be there.

3. Sadri: Somewhere in the Sadri Gate Neck quest there has to be some lore to back this up. C'mon.

It doesn't even take 5 minutes to get to MielC from the MoP. The zone doesn't get used because the loot doesn't sell for jack or shit. If you want MielC to be a popular zone it has to be redesigned completely.

The zone should be redesigned to be the new "Citadel".

It should be hard as fuck and require tier 5-ish group to grind on the entry level mobs+bridges/area plus the old "zone-in" area. It should require a tier 7+ group to XP at and hold any camp/area after any of the 3 intersections. The crypt itself could require a higher level of people and include it's own tier 9+ 6man encounter somewhere in it.

The lower area of the zone could be a tier 10-11+ XP area as well as it's own featured 6man type encounter.

Anything past the door to the bossman dragon could be a tier 12+ raid clear + t12/13/14 dragon type monster.

Once redesigned then any consequential quest pieces and such for things in the game would have to be redistributed.

The zone itself can and will harbor over 60 players at a time ranging from all "tiers" and it could be the "new" old Sebilis zone.

I call BS. Try running a group of people there, especially some newer people. Maybe you are right about the content, but most of the people I know just hate the run. If you wipe it is a hell of a hike back too.

Honestly, anything is better than a dead zone. It is a really well designed zone, and the content there now isn't too bad. (Enchanter frogs are a pain...) It really just needs populated with PCs.

Seriously, who doesn't like old seb!

I honestly love it there and the platnium isnt half bad, expecially if you kill way way deep down. but yah for me its having to run 1 toon at a time through 3 zones just to get there is why i dont get there, sounds silly and it does only take like 5-7 mins but its an inconvinience when i can auto follow to elds, or kaesora or any other zone for that matter.

I would rather see actual new content released than a rehash of the same Mielech zone. If you look at Dreadfang Spire as a precedent, it probably won't work. Citadel was a different type of redesign since that zone started out terrible and was only terrible for a short time before being revamped. There are also tons of quests/quest drops in MielC that would have to be displaced and figured out where to put in the world if it was turned into a tier-infinity zone.

also: lol, wb zorlon.

Have to agree with Daffie here. The zone is fantastic exp for new 65's, however for said new 65's it takes far, far longer than 5 minutes to get there from the MoP in either Oggok or Crags.

I can walk backwards the entire way to Miel C from Miel A and it still takes me over 5 minutes for myself and a box to get down there. When you have to factor in guiding new dudes in to that equation, it can take upwards of 15 minutes from the Miel A zone in.

I am all for "hard modes" of old zones, don't get me wrong. I can pull everything up to the area around exbox in 2 pulls while duoing if I so desired. This is simply a request to make it less of a pain to get to this zone designed for fresh 65's.

I can think of no other early 65 zone that takes anywhere even close to the amount of time to get to. Heck, I can't think of ANY 65 exp zone that takes longer to get to once you have all the gate necks/items. Citadel/BQ take less than 2 minutes to reach, Kaesora less than 5, and Rust factory 30 seconds to neck in.

Some sort of way to skip the running through Miel A and B would be highly appreciated, that is all. :)

I Like that its empty its good farming zone with many nameds good cash. Dropps tmaps ve-d. Mystic ash. How to go there ? Get grobb neck. ITS even better now exp wise than before.

Also, there is almost no risk running through these zones for 65s. It is all green, so it is more dangerous running through MoP! Seems like a silly time sync.

In my opinion, the below contains a lot of steps to get to buff and fight to camp for fresh 65:

Porting over -
1. Find a porter and port to South Wastes or Greenmist Jungle.
2. Run through those zones to Stinger's Bog.
3. Run through Stinger's Bog (where there is a ton of water) to MelA.
4. Run through the maze of MelA, with auto follow sucking, to MelB.
5. Run through the maze of MelB, with auto follow sucking, to MelC.
6. Buff, and fight to a camp.

MoP over -
1. Get to a MoP Portal.
2. MoP to Oggok (and people do die in the MoP.)
3. Run through Oggok to Greenmist.
4. Run through Greenmist to Stinger's Bog.
5. Run through Stinger's Bog (where there is a ton of water) to MelA.
6. Run through the maze of MelA, with auto follow sucking, to MelB.
7. Run through the maze of MelB, with auto follow sucking, to MelC.
8. Buff, and fight to a camp.

Side Note:
Honestly, it may would also help if you could bind closer than Stinger's bog at the entrance to MelA. I don't really understand why we can bind certain places and not others, though I am sure this has been brought up before. (I can bind in Stinger's outside of MelA, but not in Red Sun Peaks outside of Tunnels of Lasarth.)

Get grobb neck.

Straight from the wiki when looking up acquiring a Grobb neck:

Negative faction hits:
Sun Tribe
Silver Crown Trading Company
Hall of Fighters
Arcane Academy
Newport Guards

Alignment shifts toward:
Evil

If the wiki is correct, this doesn't seem like a solution.

Why not just make the locked meilechs laboratory door in meil a take you to meilc.

Also want to make meilC better? Make meilechs war mead vendor for 1pp each.

Long run not fun for 2 boxers (80%) of sods population
Red sun mines vs MalC
2 min travel time vs 15
easy group replace vs hard
ect.. ect...

Here is an idea that won't get used.
Turn MalC into Cmal 4 paths throw in some keys and better loot but still aimed for fresh 60's to 250 aa range
Spice the mobs up too.

Or just slap a bandaid on it and put a secret path from MalA to mal C call it a day.

mielc would be my dream zone to revamp, the layout is absolutely fantastic. it contains 15-20 or more "camps," even areas as small as the jail could be an area that could occupy a full group. it could also have an entire raid zone worth of content in the basement, while fully engaging 40+ people exping in the upper areas. although in general i'm not a big fan of revamps, i think this zone is worth it. marza and i have lamented the state of mielc several times.

the zone design is brilliant, but it needs content to match. mielc as the new citadel makes me rock hard just thinking about it

MielC is awesome the way it is for the tier it is designed for. I just thought I would throw in my 2cp here. The only issue possibly is the run but running to RSM from MoP or Lasanth from MoP is equally long/bad I think (though I haven't timed it). I realize you can get a port but not everyone can find a port. Also, EC has a lengthy run to it if you dont have a wizard to port you.

Isnt't that me or there was a zone called the Mielech Laboratory that was accessible for a very short period (but empty)? kinda got the feeling this could be used somehow, either as quick zone in from MielA if it'doesn't get used (with a flag maybe) - or idk something spicy with a link somehow
