Massive "Progressive Dungeon" Suggestion

This is a huge idea which would most likely take awhile to implement if it was even possible at all (I believe it is). It's inspired from Lufia 2's 99 level tower if any of you have played it.

Basically, it would utilize most of the LDON zones, if not others. You go to wherever this zone is located (south wastes/oasis LDON zone?) with a group of 6 and zone in. Each zone of the dungeon would have a limit of six players in it at a time. I suggest that the dungeon is INSTANCED, but if this is not possible or you do not want this, put mobs on a long respawn timer, much like cmal. If it is instanced, make it so mobs never respawn a la LDON.

The point of this dungeon is thus...

You zone in, and you are immediately stripped of all equipment, skills, and placed at level 1. The beginning of the zone would have the standard bats, rats, beetles... Spells of every class should drop fairly often, along with some basic gear and weapons. Once you complete a certain task in one zone, you will be sent to the next. This could include killing every mob, killing a boss, completing a quest, or just finding the exit. Each zone may take you about 5 levels in, and would have quite a hefty ZEM, probably 100% or even higher as you leveled up more. Special pieces of gear that drop from certain bosses should have a tag that allows you take them out of this progressive dungeon, but never back in to it. Also consider some mobs dropping some sort of token that can be turned in for exp or more loot. The group would never be able to progress into the part of the dungeon higher than the lower member of the group (thus, if it was working on roughly 5 levels per zone, a group with a level 40 in it would never be able to zone in to the 9th zone.)

Imagine forming a group and in a few hours progressing from lowly level 1s to your 40s, with patchy equipment, surviving off only what you can find within the dungeon. The boss encounters should incorporate a lot of strategy. Basically, this dungeon would be an amazing and enjoyable way for people to progress without being able to raid. People would want to hunt here because it is FUN. It's great to be able to see your character go from brand new to quite powerful over a small amount of time. When you left, you would return to SoD the same as you entered the progressive dungeon, only you may have gotten a couple of pieces of loot or some sort of tokens that were able to be taken out.

I can see this, if the time is put into it, as being a very desireable addition to the server. Comments?
 
This would be a fun thing to do but so incredibly hard to do. I loved Lufia 2 but this idea I think is beyond SoD for the moment.
 
Yup, it would be a time consuming expansion, but well worth it. Maybe once Kunark is implemented? Still waiting on that since last summer.
 
this is sorta like what they have on live now. Monster Missions, where you can be certain monsters (guards, newbie rats, Lord Red Dragon + Fire Giants defending against a raid in SolB)

personally i like this idea
 
In theory this idea brigns alot ot the table, however in practice it'll end up bringing alot of grief. For example say you get a good solid party together and start in and after so long one or more of your members drop out for a variety of reasons, this leaves you undermanned or worse, alone. Totally not fun.
 
Yeah? Haven't played live in a long time. And this isn't much like that... it's just a dungeon with a magical property that takes you back to a fledgling adventurer.
