Mass Translocate, Athica, and You

I understand the appeal of making Athica a city to mass translocate from, since its easy to get to from nearly anywhere in the world.  However, Athica B is only a few steps away and does not run the risk of picking up people who don't want to be mass translocated with you.  My suggestion is to disallow the ability to mass translocate from Athica A, and direct these types of transit from  B.  Several times I've been picked up by these mass trans just from logging in, zoning in, or even minding my own business at one of the shops.  Athica is small and its not hard to pick up people who have no interest in going to West Wastes.

I don't think it should be disabled, but I do think that the wizards responsible should be kind enough to provide some sort of warning that they are gonna aoe port so you can move.

Isn't there a confirmation message you have to click when translocated? I seem to recall that from Live, was it dumped on SoD?

I don't know if disabling the ability to AE port in certain zones is the answer.  Perhaps just being responsible as an AE port class and only doing so in areas you won't bring unwanted bystanders would be best, but that of course is if we lived in a perfect world and everyone gave a crap.  Just a thought: solely "warning people" before AE porting does not help those afk or just logging in either. :(

That was live.  There is no confirmation message in SoD.

Just wondering why the message was removed... At least, is it possible to make it optionnal? Because frankly, I'm not keen on the idea that I can be translocated againt my will just because someone near me takes that decision for me.

That's simply because escutcheon chooses their mass TL spot to be the area where you zone in if you gate to athica. We (ruin) choose to move away from the gate-in area (in rivervale) and we never get that kind of problem :)

I could count a few times a Ruin wizard was guilty of swooping me off from RV at port neck zone in or bank area... None the less, pointing fingers doesn't solve the issue of those unintentionaly porting off others in a zone. The key point here seems to be: find a zone/spot where this won't happen, and if the inevitable happens, be courteous and give them a TL back.

You certainly can't expect to get anywhere in the high end game with that kind of courtesy.

We do no mass TLs without a warning first. To my knowledge nobody has ever been swept up in one without getting a port back taken care of, and if a problem like that arises send me a tell and I'll make sure it gets handled.

I did a Mass TL about a week ago from the GFay side of the bridge in Athica, after /shout'ing a warning about 30-40 seconds before porting, and people got ported with us and they were adamant that they were sitting in the bank at the time the port took them. I didn't see them around when i was casting. I took the time to send them back of course, but I was wondering what happened for a while.

Chaotic Winds does it from the corner of the Gfay zone near Athica entrance, it's close by, and no one of the appropriate level to get caught in the port is ever sitting around there by chance.

You have to zone out of Athica, but it works!
